Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Maybe a middle ground of comeculpas? It distances itself from the goat sucker (which I like), and also makes it a bit less sing-songy.

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
pluralizing an emotion seems a bit odd to me, even if it's meant to signify multiple people as the object. i'm not a native speaker, but Im saying this from a metalinguistic viewpoint, not a Spanish speakers' viewpoint ... I cant really offer a better word but comevergüenzas just doesnt feel right ...

Just found this quiz, figured, why the heck not? 1. Gender: Male (cisgendered) 2. Sexual orientation: Homosexual 3. Handedness: Right 4. Nationality: American, born and raised in Wisconsin, current Michigan citizen 5. Ethnicity you primarily identify with: German/Lithuanian 6. Neurotype: Mostly neur...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I struck upon an idea for a mythical beast that feeds on people's shame, and for whatever reason, wanted to coin a name for it in Spanish (maybe due to the strong undercurrent of shame present in Roman Catholicism... a religion prominent in Span...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
[...] All that shows not only skill but artistry! Well thank you much for that! It also makes me happy that I managed to do this in MSPaint with tenacity and a base font to start from. Yes, the goal for my scripts is typically realism, so I'm glad that I seemingly achieved that. As an aside, two of...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
@37: That does look like Hebrew to me! One of the letters looked just like the letter mem. Yes it does! In fact, looking at them side-by-side, the only major difference is to what part of the vertical stroke the top curve attaches. I have to admit that the starting place was certainly not Hebrew as...

Tćiskrak aćritokira. [<3] You tend to be a fan of my romanizations and such... anything in particular that stands out to you? I like the aesthetic of that script. I like it well enough, and am glad others do as well. It kinda has a bit of a Hebrew vibe, but the language itself has a bit of a slavic...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
After a horrifically long drought, I'm back to casually making scripts and designing the rudiments of a lang. I think I've finally grown content in just designing scripts and making JUUUST enough of a language so that I can start to use them and move on. I've learned that it is okay to only do what ...

No problem, my dude, I'm in no particular rush or anything.
Good news is, that since posting here I've gotten a bit more inspired to do a bit more con-scripting and such, so there's that. :)

Re: Metal Thread
Looks like this thread hasn't been toooo active, but I'll ask anyway. I've recently been a bit obsessed with the song End of Heartbreak by Killswitch Engage. However, after listening to the whole album its on I've come to find out that it isn't really representative of their overall style and "heavi...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Oh, that is so cool ! Do any real scripts work like this, or is this for once something that's beyond ANADEW? Good question. I know that I don't know any that work quite like this... but that doesn't mean there aren't any. I do think that the idea of having something like 13 different glyphs for 3 ...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Today I finished work on a script! https://www.frathwiki.com/images/5/56/Twugh_Puzaang_Wi-sm.png The name of the lang (tentatively) is Twuğ Puzāŋ Wī and is spelled out on the top left of the image. As is obvious, I am as obsessed with Asian scrips as much as ever and think of this lang as kind of an...

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread
So I have been toying with a script for the first time in a long time (yes I will post it eventually), and have a phoneme inventory to go with it... but I feel like it is uninspired and need something to make it a bit more interesting or in any way be more than just, I don't know, existent. Currentl...

I think Micamo started the trend, but does anyone know why there is such a penchant for using Project <Mineral> as a placeholder name?

I'm picturing a form of poetry where lines are read backwards or what have you for two nested meanings.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
I had never heard of that before. It certainly is interesting! In retrospect, I implied a more wide-ranging meaning then I had intended. What I mean to say is that I don't think most words have a sound that associates very deeply with any particular meaning. Some sounds seem harder, harsher or more ...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Did you do this on Fonstruct? Looks a lot like what I tried to do years ago (and didn't suceed). No, but I suppose I could have... in theory. snip It says: Tçiʼʌclura /ʨi.ʔə̃. kluː .ɾa/. Love this. The name, the sounds, the script? All three? The romanization?! It looks very impressive! Thanks, Eld...

That would be how it would be written if it weren't an example of the paired glyphs.
Also, I've crafted vowel markers as well which necessitates a bit of room above and below the lines
