Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Question, can a conlang be based on music? I’m just wondering as I compose music as a hobby and I have wanted to make a conlang. And the music conlang idea has come to me a few times now.

Need some help with my amphibious reptilian

So, I'm building this world where most of the lifeforms, for one reason or another, are reptiles, or at least reptilian. Now, I know there have been reptile dominant periods in Earth's history, so it isn't impossible for the modern ecosystem of another planet to be predominantly reptiles as well. I ...

Making a logography, so intimidating

It has been suggested to me that since I am starting with the proto-lang as far as making my conlang is concerned, that likewise, when I get to the writing system, I should start with the most complicated to learn of them all, the logography. It is so intimidating to me though. I mean, at minimum, y...

Adjective Hierarchy, how to figure it out

So I'm working on an agglutinative conlang and I figured that I could start with basic grammar of my proto-lang at the same time that I am working on my phonology. Since agglutinative languages most likely evolved their affixes from adjective roots, that is the way that I am going with this conlang....

Re: Keplerian Proto Arab Writing System

No but the earth-like planets that were detected by the Kepler Space Telescope inspired me to put Kepler in the planet's name.

Re: Keplerian Proto Arab Writing System

I called them Keplerians because the planet they are on has Kepler in its name and I didn't know what else to call them. So yeah, I named the humanoid species after the planet they live on.

Re: Keplerian Proto Arab Writing System

It is used by humanoids on a planet far away from us and these humanoids are called Keplerians. Plus, it isn't an exact copy of the Arabic Abjad, just based off of it.

Keplerian Proto Arab Writing System

I chose an abugida writing system for my conlang. Here is my Keplerian Proto Arab writing system for the phonology with the characters and the IPA transcription below: Vowels including dipthongs when isolated: https://pm1.narvii.com/6817/9775814de536d06b98ac190aa020503216834bdcv2_hq.jpg Consonants i...

Re: Writing system, not sure which one to use.

Well here is a link to where you can see my phonology:

As for whether they are actual Arabic characters or just have the aesthetic, they will just have the aesthetic of Arabic characters.

Writing system, not sure which one to use.

So, I'm working on a language with Arabic based characters and phonology but 1 question I have is, what writing system to use. I want it to be Arabic based when it comes to the characters but not written in the same type of system as Arabic. Here are the writing systems I know of: Abjad https://i.st...
