Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Any one know a good way to write a language with palatalization using the roman alphabet? It also has the semivowel [j] that I already write as /j/ Do you contrast /Cj/ sequences with /Cʲ/? Is the contrast marginal, or a major one? What vowels do you use? Is <y> available? There is the option of ma...

Mis mrika satakas tima? Why does it make you sad? [It is an excuse, "that makes me sad" = I am sorry (for the misstake). It is like the german "es tut mir leid" = "that/it makes me sad", for using "he" when "she" was more appropriate. Also, I would ...

Question about SOV and clauses! If English (who is SVO) have the sentence " I hate that you eat cheese with one main clause and a dependent clause then that clause acts very much like an object of the verb (to hate). If a SOV-language would say the same thing, would it then move the dependent c...

Re: How natlangs look in the future!
How many people do you know who actually pronounce the -de in the preterite? Actually, - ade isn't weakened to - a in the traditional dialects of north eastern Skåne. Have you found any material on traditional Scanian dialects yet, Stammalor? If you actually speak a traditional dialect that would b...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
I don't think a tergo would be a very good way to organize a dictionary. I mean, for Latin, half of the dictionary would be taken up by <s> (ending on many nouns), o (ending of all verbs in 1.SG present tense), and <m> (another common ending). It wouldn't be good for a language with very limited ph...

Re: How natlangs look in the future!
So it is fun to create conlangs and discusse how languages have evolved, but those are things that have already happen! Let's take some steps forward insted of backwards. If you could make some predictions (or wishes?!) from contemporary languages, what would they be? Would a dialect become more in...
