Compound words?

Okay, one day, I, a slightly crazy 15-year-old, got the idea to make a conlang. And as such, the Demon language, Demonos, was born. ANd I have a question to ask of you: How far can compound nouns go before it gets a little strange? I'm not talking about length. I'm talking about compound words being...

Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Are there any kind of freeware programs that allow you to make a dictionary for your conlang? I could use one right now, my pen'n'paper notes are getting ridiculous.

Re: Personal Pronouns in your conlangs:

Demonos has no time for complex pronoun systems. It uses a very simple system, somewhat like English: They're declined in Nomative, Accusative, and Genitive cases. There are no politeness or authority modifications. Demons have little time for much else besides fighting. All of the are done in "...

Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

What really matters is if you are happy with or like your conlang. There is technically no wrong way to conlang. I like the pronunciation of mine currently, probably because it's Germanic-inspired and I love Germanic languages. I like grammar more too. I usually just keep a basic phonology in my he...

Re: Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Does it matter if your Conlang's phonology is similar to English's if the grammar is heavily different? My conlang, Demonos, has a somewhat similar phonology to English, but it uses Verb affixes to represent modality/aspect and inflects to show tense (including an inflection to show the Perfect, ins...

Re: What did you accomplish today?

I started to really define Demonos's Phonology. As in, actually define the exact consonants and syllables it used. It's too similar to English, though. I need to alter it quite a bit--the grammar is nearly completely divorced from English, but the phonology is a little too similar.
