Re: Rumhängethread
Ja, in letzter Zeit geht mir das auch so. Genaugenommen seit ich einen Blog habe. Vielleicht sollten wir einen Club/Verein/Webring oder sonstwas organisieren um conlanger in Deutschland ein wenig zu organisieren :) Ich habe eigentlich große Lust ein bisschen weiter in da ganze Feld einzutauchen und ...

Re: Categorizing words
Which is where the trouble comes in. How do you define 'basic verb'? (Right now I'm doing anything that doesn't fall into another category). How do you categorize something like 'repeat'? How about 'miss' (opposite of 'hit') or 'stuck/stop/remain'? I'd suggest to look at various thesuari as well! T...

Re: Can anyone help me build a syntax/grammar for my conlang
I felt the strong urge to applaud on this guide!
It should, IMHO, be moved either to the beginner's corner or the teach and share forum.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Constructed Literature
Reading this thread I came to think of how much I enjoyed the fact that good Old Morrowind had books. There were by no means enxtensive, often only very short outlines, but they sufficed to make the respective world a good tad more believable. Maybe you should not aim as high as "write a whole ...

Re: Other Creativity
This weekend, I wrote a program in C which creates a connected two dimensional maze. I like pointers. Download here . I assure you it no virus, but I still won't take any responsibility for whatever happens on your machine. Assuming you're using windows: To actually see the maze, start the exe-file ...
Re: Kalaajur II
First of all, the conlang has been slightly renamed to Kalaajur . 6. The Sounds I finally came up with a phonology I like. And here it is: Vowels /a i ɔ u/ /aː iː ɔː uː/ <a i o u> There is a length distinction in the vowels which is applied in prosody as stress. Consonants /t d c ɟ k ʃ̟ ɮ l j m ʁ/ <...
Re: My New Conlang: Kaalajur
Is the "secundative" case only used for secondary objects? Or does it have some other uses - like marking the object/complement to some regular transitive verbs? What did the "prepositional" case evolve from, historically? (A genitive case? That could make sense...) The secundat...
Re: My New Conlang: Kaalajur
There is a possibilty wich is called "initial" with the verb being final and a possibility which is called "final" with the verb being initial [:S] Why that? That is because I wanted to get your attention to the noun suf fixes BEFORE the verb (verb- initial ) and, in the other e...

Re: Quick Guide to LaTeX!
Good thing! That may be useful for other conlangers who want to use LaTeX. I just thought, when reading about XeLaTeX, that it is not of any advantage for me, because I don't type the IPA symbols directly with a custom keyboard but want to have means of getting them from ASCII input (or the specfic ...
Kalaajur
Hi everyone. I've created the first word in Kalaajur, which is (who may have thought?) Kalaajur . ka- laa<ju>r 1PL.INCL- speak<NTR> We speak. Well, actually I created three morphemes: <ka>-, <laar> and <(j)u> I've been working on this new conlang since the 22nd of September and I want to present you...

I see. I cannot find the hook. Only below the letter, which is then \c{}. But I'm sure there exists a package where you can put these hooks in.

Re: Quick Guide to LaTeX!
TeXstudio puts \u{a} \u{\i} \u{u}. But that is a semi-circle... Ah! \v{a} \v{\i} and \v{u}. Note that \i produces an i without a dot.Ceresz wrote:so far I haven't really found anything on how to write a hook above (ả, ỉ, ủ etc). Some page suggested h\, but that doesn't work.

Re: Quick Guide to LaTeX!
You know, I actually gave LaTeX a go a while back, but I gave up quickly. Now that you've taken the time to write and post this I might give it a try again. Good job. I apprechiate that! It is not quite extensive yet, I'll add something to environments and all those tiny in-text commands in the nea...

Quick Guide to LaTeX!
Hi! I decided to give you a very brief overview of how to get a working LaTeX document. I will, of course, not go too much into the details, as they are endless. 0. What is LaTeX? LaTeX [ˈla.tɛχ] is a software package that provides macros for TeX. The formatting language TeX is similar to HTML, but ...

I'm in for the LaTeX. Give me a day :DJarhead wrote:I see your PDF suggestion and raise it a LaTeX suggestion.
But whereas I wouldn't mind helping with the PDF I'd be in trouble if you asked me to cure the LaTeX.
Edit: Done.

I enjoyed that story.
I wondered about the end: If Briga may place Skar's soul somewhere, why is she mouring him for many years?

Because I'm currently writing a paper on riddles in computer games in have delved a little into the Old English riddles ( Exeter Riddles book ). Is it plural or singular? Since all three languages I posted in the OP do not make this distinction in their participles, you're are essentially free to decide. You may, even better, post both variants. :fra: pleuré - :eng: cried Could you provide the "cried at" or "cried for" m...
