Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I am working on a conlang that uses a consonant based alphabet with the vowels written as marks above the consonants (similar to hebrew). However, I cannot figure out how to make a font for this kind of alphabet. (I have tried using fontforge but can't seem to get it working.) Does anyone know of a...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Is it natural for a language to have one nasal vowel? Or perhaps as an [allophone]? I thought I'd have the polish <ą> that makes the /ow̃/ or /ɔ̃/ sound. or maybe i'd have it as an allophone of /a/ before /mb/ and when it's between a fricative (f, v, z, s, etc.) and /nt/ kamb /kɔ̃mb/ and zant /zɔ̃nt/

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread

Might be silly to ask, but what are phontactics?
Is it like you can only have this many onset combination, what can go in the nucleus, what goes into the coda or if there's even one?
Like for example a language can have /zm/ together but not /sm/?
