Re: Two Ergative Romlangs
I really love the look for this and also want to add I'm really looking forward to seeing the grammar! In Franco-Provençal, stress reassignment to the final syllable is common but irregular (e.g. FARĪNA > /farˈna/, CUBITUM > /kuˈdu/). In Vissard, this was completely regular and affected all words, i...

Subjunctive with Commands & Requests I'm taking some influence from Old French & Silvish and adding the following rule in Gallo-Tuscan as well: In expressions of orders and requests, the desired action is placed in a subjunctive subordinate clause, and the person receiving the order is both...

Present Subjunctive The present subjunctive is formed by taking the 1s present tense form and adding the following endings. Verbs ending in -tir which undergo the /t/ -> /t͡s/ change maintain this change in all plural forms. -Ir verbs with the -esc- infix add it in all forms other than the 1p and 2...

Present Perfect & Recent Past Gallo-Tuscan has completely lost its preterite and as such the present perfect has completely taken over. There's not much surprising with the present perfect unfortunately. It's formed by combining a conjugated form of avér/esser (same distinction as Italian) and ...

In addition to the above, I think it'd be interesting to maybe add-in early devoicing of /b d ɡ/ in certain situations. If you're looking for Finnic influence you could have /p t k/ occur finally and alternate in grammatical forms with /ʋ z ɣ/.

Re: Foreign Plurals used in English besides Latin and Greek
I’ve seen German plurals used before in history and philosophy for specific terms but these were often italicized and wouldn’t be words commonly used outside of these fields.
Apparently Poltergeister is an acceptable plural in English even if my phone’s decided to give it a red underline.

In the accent I speak in French, final /ɛʁ/ is typically pronounced instead as /eʁ/ but final /ɔʁ/ (which is already merged with /oʁ/) is still pronounced as /ɔʁ/. Is there anything specifically about how these vowels or /ʁ/ are pronounced that would cause this discrepancy? French does favor the /e...

I used to make a lot of mistakes in French using similar constructions before I realized the extent to which infinitive constructions are used. I quite like the look of it in Old French & Silvish though.

Re: The Sixth Conversation Thread
Today I had a case of … ANADET? (A natlang already did exactly that.) Years ago, I independently came up with a syntax for introducing subjunctive clauses in Silvish, specifically designed to be not-French. I've pretty much stopped using it at this point, though. But while reading a grammar for Old...

I love the look and feel for this conlang and hope to see more of it . Particularly a fan of /l/ being a rare phoneme replaced by /d/. Do you have any sample words with this phoneme? Are there any phonological changes that specifically made it rare?
