Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Transitivity is a messy term. Semantic transitivity: an agent somehow changes the patient. Syntactic transitivity: the verb has a direct object. The two are of course linked, because the syntactic transitive construction is defined as the one coding a prototypical transitive semantic action, basical...

Re: Yulá Skásti (new grammar)
I am still working out the wider implications that this idea could entail, but I am looking to make Yulá Skásti Maskǫ́łe (The River Skasti Language) into a philosophical language of a sort. I could derive a people for this, but I likely won't. This is becoming a way that I derived to take my though...

Re: SBäk e Dlor
Dlor adjectives are a closed small class. Most adjectival meanings are expressed with a static verb. But it's boring always to use the relative marker ra. Maybe s- could relativize static verbs. They don't form middle voice anyways so s- is free.

I started (gain) translating the sentences of the The Snowball Game Returns -thread. I translated the four first ones into Dlor today. Re: SBäk e Dlor
I could test the ergative idea that I have been using in my speedlangs. This could be an interesting idea. Intransitive clauses are VS. Transitive clauses are either SVO or VO by S. Tlee kool mas i build house 'I built a house.' Kool mas na tlee built house BY i 'I built a house.' It is also possibl...

Re: SBäk e Dlor
Maybe the instrumental prefixes could be added to nouns as suffixes to derive nouns. ku-läm 'to eat hair' (whatever that means) läm-ku 'beard' (hair+mouth) That would need maro morphological processes cos Dlor does not allow consonant clusters. Or maybe they could still be prefixes but have some sup...

Dlor has (at the current state) four pitch-registers: neutral/low tone, modal voice high tone, modal voice neutral/low tone, breathy voice neutral/low tone, creaky voice The root has one of the three but if the words has prefixes the pitch-register moves to the first syllable. I have tried to keep t...

Re: SBäk e Dlor
I think I could test this idea https://cbbforum.com/viewtopic.php?p=327072#p327072 in Dlor. Dlor voices are formed adding a preposition before the verb. by-write 'writer' (the one by whome something is written) in-write 'writing place' I have never seen such derivation but maybe it could be natural....

How naturalistic of a system would this be regarding ditransitive verbs? If "X causes Y to go to Z", then indirect alignment (e.g. I-NOM throw a ball-ACC to you-DAT) If "X causes Z to have Y", then secundative alignment (e.g. I-NOM give you-ACC a ball-INS) And my language would,...
