Hey Vlürch, did you create that unicorn avatar yourself? Is it taken from one of your Babymetalesque albums' art?

No, it's this one unicorn painting with a bunch of slightly different versions around the internet; I'm not sure if the exact version I edited it from is any of the ones I linked, but I just replaced the background with a rainbow circle thingy and messed with the colours.

Oh, cool! I guess you left-right reversed the image?

How is that even possible?! [:O] I'm glad to hear, though, of course.
Shh, I shall let you know. *whispers*

People hardly visit my channel, it has few views [xD]
Something I discovered as I was uploading some new videos to my YouTube channel lately . . .

It seems YouTube is now screening video comments and rejecting them before they even show up. I've had quite a few comments that showed when I clicked the "Notifications" bell icon, but didn't appear when I actually opened my videos and read the comments section. One of the rejected comments asked, "Mental health issues"? Another was pornographic in nature and used four banana emoji. A third was on an Avril Lavigne parody I sang, discussing the conspiracy theory surrounding Avril Lavigne having died and being replaced with a Capgras lookalike.

Then there was a comment that mentioned my conlang Kankonian and praised my rock musical. It's really too bad that that one didn't post; I'm guessing it had something to do with the fact that the fellow included a URL linking to his Facebook group and the YouTube filter thought, "ZOMG spam!"

Reyzadren, Vlürch, are you two getting a lot of these "rejected" comments lately?

No, I have never received any of these comments or notifications.

However, I heard that there are other youtube users experiencing the same thing of having comments pre-deleted.

Hmmmm . . . weird. Sort of what I suspected. Spam clean-up, censorship, or just a bug? [O.o]

Youtube's default setting is to hold potentially offensive comments and spam for review (you can change it to allow all comments being published immediately). So if you go to the Held for review tab, you might find some lost comments there. It is also my impression that you'll still be notified of comments that have since been deleted by the author. Can't say if any of this applies to your case, though.

Thanks -- this was helpful! I'll look into it.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I didn't notice. I have gotten bot spam comments that get automatically filtered sometimes, and imho it's good they get filtered because, well, they're bot spam. I think the comments you mentioned (except the one that mentioned your conlang) sound like bot spam, so it makes sense that they got filtered regardless of whether they were bots or actual people making them. I assume you can still manually mark comments "not spam" for some time before they get deleted automatically, but it's been a while since I got comments that were filtered so I can't check if that's still possible.

Hmmmm . . . my "Held for review" folder was empty when I checked it. It's frustrating that I can't find them anywhere except in my email box.

I tried to do death grunts while singing in my conlang, and I am satisfied with what I hear. Never thought I'd actually achieve this.

Congrats! [:D] Be careful not to overdo it if you're just starting out with growls and such, especially if you're getting that "harshness" using your throat. It can be helpful to drink kinda lukewarm water before you start to growl and whenever you feel an "itch" in your throat (and I mean more lukewarm than if you're just singing), and you should probably stop if you start to feel any pain.

I'm sure you already know all this, but I just wanted to mention just in case you don't, since it'd suck if you lost your voice for a week or month or forever because you overdid your growls and with a bad technique. Still, I'll also say that I really don't think there even are any "bad techniques", it's just that the ones that have a risk of damaging your throat should be done more cautiously. Like, it's so much fun to eg. do inhaled high screams and let your throat kinda "crackle" while doing it, and it sounds insane... but not a good idea to do on a daily basis.

PS: I see you also use FL. Nice.

It's only a few lines, so I didn't feel any pain, but I felt dizziness while singing after that o.O

Well, an update: I got in touch with YouTube promoter MD Tanvir, and in the course of a day, my YouTube subscriber count has gone up from 6 subscribers to 50 subscribers.

I need to upload a video of me listening to my Reyzadren collab, so I can plug Reyzadren's YouTube channel and get him some more subscribers too.

^Just watched it. Yikes, the many times the name Reyzadren is mispronounced. It hurts lol

Though tbf, I'd most likely mispronounce Khemehekis as well.

Oh. I was pronouncing your name /ˈɹeizəˌdɹɛn/.

Khemehekis is /ˌxɛmɛˈhɛkis/ in Kankonian, but when speaking English I say /ˌxɛməˈhɛkɨs/.

Well, my YouTube channel has another new video of me singing. Aside from my recent video about bad arguments against lowering the voting age, I put up a new song from the Bush years! My friends laughed so hard when they heard me singing it!

"Neocons"

I've put up two new videos on my friend Jolene's sixty-fifth birthday. I love Jolene to death . . . and beyond. These were song parodies I wrote for a concert in 2020.

"She's Always a Jo-Jo" -- Parody of "She's Always a Woman" by Billy Joel

"Eat It Up" -- Parody of "Shake It Off" by Taylor Swift
