I thought he was a girl because I assumed Jonathana was his real first name and I thought it was a Semitic feminine of Jonathan (like Briana or Davida). I also thought Tegire was his last name (Tigrinya in origin, perhaps) and that he named his concountry Tigeria and linked it with tigers as a tribute to/celebration of his surname. Then one day someone on the ZBB referred to "Jonathan" Tegire and "his blue computer". This puzzled me, and then the explanations came pouring out and I learned Tegire's actual gender. Turned out Tegire was just a pseudonym. And he said he couldn't change the name of his language and country now because they had become too established. He said it "serve[d him] right for making the word for tiger 'tegire'". Then he added as an afterthought, "Oh well, more coincidence".
I visited his page at http://www.angelfire.com/super2/tigeria again today after seeing it linked by Janko Gorenc (you know, the number collector). But that wasn't the real surprise.
The real surprise was when I visited the page about Tigeria's embassy at http://www.angelfire.com/super2/tigeria ... ohana.html and got this message at the bottom:
So I was the #1,776th visitor. Something to throw a firework for!Counter wrote:1,776 people have visited this embassy since 9 June 2002.
