I've been playing Tropico - Paradise Island, which was published in 2001. And I've created the phonology for Pre-Proto-Umbric (which I want to call Proto-Avestic - but creating words a priori isn't easy...).

In which case, Avestan is like Sanskrit no?

Skava, Aseca!
hey, Aseca!

Ne paro-romasthaal, samye ghaṇṭabhyantare umbrikasthaas romasthaye 'stha.
Not pre-latin, Umbrian and Latin had the same time (hour?).

OR, mebbe

I think I'm garbling a couple of your conlangs here. I don't have your word for "time/history". Forgive: khaimah tvo sto!

Ti skava ca, Lambhujau -
And hey to you too, Lambhuzhao
Spoiler:
Good effort - yep indeed some garbled bits there. FYI the conlang is more SOV.

Ghanṇṭabhyantare is Sanskrit for 'an hour'. Time is kaala, which also means death. There are cognates with kali, the Hindu Goddess of Time and Destruction and Death. The sig I have is a verse from William Blake, translated into Sanskrit. It brilliantly describes the inner world beyond the ego.

In my conlang, 'same time' would be samyash ṭya, whereas 'simultaneous' would be samshṭya
Day is dyah, hour is dyakah
Ne paro-romasthaal, samye ghaṇṭabhyantare umbrikasthaas romasthaye 'stha.
Na paro-romasthaa, umbryasthaa romasthaas ti samye ṭye vyasatrum.
Not pre-latin, umbrya-speak, roma-speak and, same time exist-3pl-past.
ghaṇṭabhyantare umbrivańak romavańca vajam lanvyambar iva phisamas.
kas tval vajam lanvyambar iva khas ti phisamas khar iijayasi?
Question, what do you mean by 'vajam lanvyambar' and 'phisamas'?
Sikatāyām kaṇam lokasya darśasi, svargam phale vanye ca.
See a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower.
