Typos in textbooks

Post by Omzinesý »

Essays and course books of linguistics are full of typos while linguists have misinterpreted each other's descriptions of foreign languages.
What have you found?

The best I've seen is Odden's Introducing Phonology

There is a Finnish example where he explains partitive formation (wrong actually, but in the data, the analysis works.)

But there is an example in the book.

kiirehti 'hurry', kiirehtiä 'hurry PART'

Yes, kiirehtiä means 'hurry' but it is a verb.
kiirehtiä 'to hurry'
kiirehti 'hurried' hurry.PST.SG3
