:fra:
1:
Es-tu allé au marché hier?
are-you gone to the market yesterday?
Oui, j'y suis allé.
yes, I LOCATIVE.PRON am gone.
Non, je n'y suis pas allé.
No, I not LOCATIVE.PRON am not gone

2:
N'es-tu pas allé au marché hier?
Not are-you not gone to the market yesterday?
(Non)(Oui), je n'y suis pas allé.
(No)(Yes), I not LOCATIVE.PRON am not gone
Si, j'y suis allé.
Yes(secondform), I LOCATIVE.PRON am gone.

French has two forms for "yes". The first one (oui) agrees with ANY statement.

The second one (si) doesn't agree with a NEGATIVE statement.

Standard French uses a lot the second form, while my dialect (Québec French) doesn't use it at all.

BONUS

:qbc:
1:
T'és-tu-t-allé au marché hier?
[te.tsy.ta.le.o.maχ.ʃe.jɛʁ]
Oui, ch't'allé.
[wi.ʃta.le]
Non, j'y ai pas été. (I don't why we change verb and form...)
[nɔ̃.ʒi.e.pɑ.e.te]

2:
T'as pas été au marché hier? (Considered rude. Do not use it with superiors.)
[tɑ.pɑ.e.te.o.maχ.ʃe.jɛʁ]
Non, j'y ai pas été.
[nɔ̃.ʒi.e.pɑ.e.te]
Oui, ch't'allé.
[wi.ʃta.le]

This is not exhaustive.

Kron:
There are no words for "yes" or "no" in Kron. Simply restating the verb is fine.
1.
Tek jen ja ge Ckart ro?
(2SG go to DEF Market Q)

Jen.
(Go)
Kinu jen.
(NEG go)

2: Kinu Tek jen ja ge Ckart?

Jen.

Kinu jen.

When asking a negative question, replying with "yes" actually means "Yes, you are right--I did go the store". Replying with "no" means "Nope, just like you thought, didn't go to the store". This is how I asnwer such questions in real life--It ALWAYS confuses people.....

Positive question: 'Did you go to the store yesterday?

- ‘Ioe, na alu a‘u i le fale‘oloa ananafi.

- Leai, na alu a‘u i le fale‘oloa ananafi.

Positive answer: 'Yes (no), I went to the shop yesterday.'

- ‘Ioe, na lē alu a‘u i le fale‘oloa ananafi.
Yes ('no'), PRFT NEG go 1SG shop yesterday
Negative answer: 'No (yes), I did not go to the shop yesterday'

(In other words, Samoan is an agreement language.)

Vietnamese doesn't distinguish "Did you..." from "Didn't you...". They would both be translated the same.

For 'yesterday', the adessive case '-weith' would be equally acceptable.

Rihannen does not have words for "yes" and "no", so one has to answer by repeating the main verb:

Vameos montala lasterí?
vam-eo-s mont-a-la laste-rí?
go-PST-2SG market-SG-ALL before-day
Did you go to the market yesterday?
Vameon / Vameontta
vam-eo-n / vam-eo-n-tta
go-PST-1SG / go-PST-1SG-NEG
I did go / I did not go

Vameostta montala lasterí?
vam-eo-s-tta mont-a-la laste-rí?
go-PST-2SG-NEG market-SG-ALL before-day
Didn't you go to the market yesterday?

:con: Ardelian

Ardelian constructs polar, i.e. yes-no questions the same way as corresponding declarative sentences, but the former are marked by rising intonation on the last two syllables of the clause. Polar questions are straightforwardly answered by ya "it’s true” or ne "it isn’t true”, depending on the agreement with the question stated.
A nifty feature of the two questions in this translation is the use of the hesternal tense (HST) which marks actions as happened the day before.
