so‘aosa‘abaa
[soʔaʊ̯↓saʔaⁿbaː]
so-‘aosa-‘a-baa
2-love-MASC-1.ERG
I love you.

This form is for straight couples and for gay men: lesbians omit the masculine suffix -‘a (it's even more complicated because the Kea‘aisõ have a rather narrow definition of what counts as "male" and is thus liable to take masculine agreement).

A less strong alternative.

somẽrẽ‘abaa
[somẽ↓ɽẽʔaⁿbaː]
so-mẽrẽ-‘a-baa
2-belong-MASC-1.ERG
I feel like I belong with you.

Again lesbians omit the masculine suffix.

It came from French "you" (More like Esperanto, but close enough)

Semantically, there's not much difference except that you could use frian with friends whereas ljuban is only romantic. It's chiefly a regional difference with those living within and east of the Dinaric Alps using ljuban and those living west of the Dinaric Alps, along the coast retaining frian.

I love you (romantic)

Kunca.

I love you (platonic)

Kesta.

I love you (familial)

Kanka.
/ˈkan.ka/
k-ank-a
1SG.SBJ-familially.love-2SG.OBJ

Variations

To say "like" in the sense of a less strong form of love, similar to Spanish te quiero, you insert an -l- before the -a: kendla, kuncla, kestla, kankla. To emphasize the object and convey a sense of exclusivity, you add eca after the verb: kenda eca, kunca eca, kesta eca, kanka eca. To emphasize the subject, you add kec after the verb and, if you're also emphasizing the object, before the object: kenda kec (eca), kunca kec (eca), kesta kec (eca), kanka kec (eca).
