It may not make much sense but this was inspired by Thai:

/m n ⁿd͡ʑ ⁿd͡ɮ ŋ ŋʷ/ m n nj ndl ng ngw
/tʰ t͡ɕʰ t͡ɬʰ kʰ kʷʰ/ t ch tl k kw
/t t͡ɕ t͡ɬ k kʷ/ d j dl g gw
/b d/ b dd
/s ɕ ɬ h/ s sh hl h
/r j l w/ r y l w

/a e i o u/ a e i o u

Vowels have length and pitch (like most of my langs)

I may choose to ditch the labialised velars and just permit all kinds of CG clusters.

Something based on ideas from Moksha though first tine the ideas came from Japanese phonology.

Vowels
i u
e o
æ ɑ

Written in Cyrillic
и у
е о
я а

Consonants
p t tʲ~c t͡s t͡sʲ~t͡ɕ k
h* s sʲ~ɕ x
m n nʲ~ɲ
r rʲ l lʲ~ʎ
v ð ɣ j

* Pronounced [f]~[ɸ] before rounded vowels.

In cyrillic before front vowels
п - т - ц к
ф - с х
м - н
- р - л
в д г Ø

In cyrillic elsewhere
п т ть ц ць к
с сь х
м н нь
р рь л ль
в д г й

All consonants are palatalized after front vowels. Only dentals can be palatalized/palatal elsewhere.

Update:

/p t t͡ɕ t͡ɬ k/ bp dt j dl gk
/b d g/ b d g
/s ɕ ɬ h/ s sh hl h
/r j l w/ r y l w

/a e i o u/ a e i o u

/g/ is for the most part realised [ɣ]. /t͡ɕʰ t͡ɬʰ kʰ/ tend to become the fricatives [ɕ ɬ x], which in the case of /kʰ/ is purely allophonic but for the other two sounds creates a merger with the corresponding fricative phonemes.

I thought about a combination of Proto-Bantu-like consonants and tone with Proto-Turkic-like vowels.

Consonants
/m n/ <m n>
/mb nd ɲɟ ŋg/<mb nd nj ng>
/b d ɟ g/<b d j g>
/mp nt ɲc ŋk/<mp nt nc nk>
/p t c k/<p t c k>

Vowels
/i iː y yː ɨ ɨː u uː/<i ii ü üü ï ïï uu>
/e æː ø øː ə ɑː o ɔː/<ä ää ö öö a aa o oo>

Tones
/˩ ˥/

Syllable structure
CV+T
Consonant Vowel + Tone

Phonological processes
Lenition: Voiced simple stops /b d ɟ g/ become continuants [β l j ɣ] in intervocalic position.
Palatalization: Palatal plosives /ɲɟ ɟ ɲc c/ freely vary between palatal stops [ɲɟ ɟ ɲc c] and post-alveolar affricates [n̠dʒ dʒ n̠tʃ tʃ] in most positions.
Assibiliation: Intervocalically, palatal stops freely vary between palatals [c j] and postalveolar fricatives [ʃ ʒ].
Nasalization: Vowels become nasalized before prenasalized stops.
Backness Harmony: Words can only include either front vowels /i iː y yː e æː ø øː/ or back vowels /ɨ ɨː u uː ə ɑː o ɔː/.

Examples:
one - <mii> /mìì/ [mìì]
two - <beedí> /bæ̀ːdí/ [bæ̀ːlí]
three - <tǘtü> /týtỳ/ [týtỳ]
four - <nöö> /nø̀ː/ [nø̀ː]
five - <téénee> /tǽːnæ̀ː/ [tǽːnæ̀ː]
six - <cambïnï> /càmbɨ̀nɨ̀/ [tʃã̀mbɨ̀nɨ̀]

Here's an inventory I've been fixated on lately:

/m n/
/t t͡ʃ k/
/b̥ d̥ d͡ʒ̥ g̥/
/s ʃ ɬ x/
/l ɻ j ʋ/

I'm undecided about the vowel system. I might use the standard /a e i o u/, or I might copy Nahuatl's /i iː e e o oː a aː/, or use a vertical vowel system like the one found in Abkhaz.

The most complex syllable permitted is /CʲVC/.

Maybe, the voiced stops won't be independentl phonemes, but instead occur in between vowels as allophones.

I like this. May I make a suggestion? All liquids and approximates become their nasal counterparts before nasalized vowels? Balance out no nasals that way.

Haha dang it I keep giving my conlangs names that aren't possible! guess I could make /k/ into /g/ between vowels, or make it Ksiowaha/ka/. Where would the stress be though?

“Ksi” is the heaviest syllable.
Remember that in onsets sonority works backwards; the less sonorous the onset, the heavier the syllable.

Syllable structure is CV word-initially and (C)CV otherwise. Acceptable consonant clusters are restricted to the liquids /ɾ l/ plus a stop and homoorganic nasal + stop clusters. Rhotic vowels cause an alveolar stop to be realised as a retroflex.

Attempt at a lang with a vertical vowel system.

Consonants:
m, mʲ, nʲ, n, nʷ, ŋ, ŋʷ
ʋ, r, ɾʲ, ɾ, ɾʷ, j
p, pʲ, t, tʲ, kʲ, k, kʷ, ʔ, ʔʷ
b, bʲ, dʲ, d, dʷ gʲ, g, gʷ
f, fʲ, s, sʷ, ɬ, ʃ, ʃʷ, ɦ~x~Ø, xʷ
t͡s, t͡ɬ, t͡ʃ, t͡ʃʷ

Vowels:
ə, a

CV(j,ʋ,n,ŋ)
ɦ is lost between vowels, but also by dialect as [x] when following [o] or start of word etc.
m -> ɱ /ʋ_

Image
Edit: I just realised this graph is hard to understand if you aren't me. The cells is white are the realisation of the nucleus + coda. In grey is the initial consonants.

f θ s ç x <ph th s kh/khi kh>
v ð z j ɣ <v d z g/gi g>
m n ɲ <m n ni>
l ʎ <l li>
r <r>

Something based on Modern Greek.
<t> is always t͡s before /i/
Velars merge with palatals before front vowels.

Homestly I don't know what's worth conlanging in this.

Is /ɾ/ allowed before rhotics? Also, how did the rhotic vowels, which I assume occur intervocalically, evolve alongside medial coda /ɾ/ (you know, being one of the ONLY permitted medial syllable codas)?

P.S. By the way, good person from Frisland, I am a fan of this particular phonology for an Austro-lang. Also, I hate you for coming up with it BEFORE me.

P.P.S. I'm certainly not trying to be "that guy" (as I did affect the results of another conlanger's language above), but I have a suggestion. When involving the medial sequences...

/-ɾtɚ- -ɾta˞-, -ltɚ- -lta˞-, -ntɚ- -nta˞-/

...would you be satisfied with the notion of making the entire cluster retroflex?

I really like this. Though no vowel nasalization before plain nasals? And are there tone contours, i.e. /týý/ vs /týỳ/ vs /tỳý/? If not, you might dispense with the double high tone marking on the long vowels, since it would be redundant.

-

I had a brief speculation about a sesquisyllabic-type language in which the inventory of not only vowel contrasts but also consonants is smaller in the sesquisyllable, e.g.:

/m n ɲ ŋ/
/p t tʃ k/
/pʰ tʰ tʃʰ kʰ/
/b d dʒ g/
/s/
/j w l/

/i ɨ u e ə o æ ɑ/

Main syllables may take the maximal structure CGVC; sesquisyllables may at most have the structure CV. The distinction between plain voiceless, aspirated voiceless, and voiced oral occlusives is neutralized in sesquisyllables and in the coda of the main syllable. Sesquisyllables may only have the vowels /i ə u/; high vowels in sesquisyllables are the product of historic glides being syllabified after the deletion of the main vowel - historical vowels in sesquisyllables were reduced to an epenthetic schwa.
