Given this, I’d recommend figuring out -ou, or Houx mean first and then the meaning of the word as a whole.

The one Houx is descended from. Sorry, I guess I assumed that, because my last few questions were about that, it would be clear which adjective I meant.

If your interpretation is correct, since it's capitalized, maybe "Ash Wednesday" or something relating to a practice like that?

I have to say, I'm stumped currently. I don't think the exact etymology of Pèi has been determined, though, so I suppose I'll try to do that. Is it descended from an adjective in Classical Latin?
