:con: Vanga:

I have not figured out seasons and months and stuff, so I'll use 'today' instead, but I do have a word for winter, so that one is no problem.
The phrase 'black bear' is redundant and wouldn't really occur in Vanga, as the word 'black' is already part of the word for bear itself.

Chinuk Wawa

Disclaimer: I am awful at spelling in Wawa. I'm borrowing the conventions that my friends use when using Wawa over electronic media: + is a lateral fricative, ? is a glottal stop, H is aspiration, E is a schwa.

Where the meaning of compounds is surprising/unclear, I've put them in parentheses in the gloss.

itsxut[1].

once and once (sometimes) person 3p go-for-see (hunt) black_bear

tilixam +aska mekHmek itsxut yaka i+wali.
person 3p eat bear 3s meat

1. "itsxut" is specifically a black bear, so I just translated all of the "bears" as "black bears".

2. I don't actually know how to talk about growling, so I used the closest thing I do know, which is more like "yell/shout".
