Pictish ogham translation

Post by Quintessence »

Okay everyone I need some help with these. This will a big challenge...
I have a couple of Pictish inscriptions that I really want to decipher, but unfortunately I don’t have much experience in deciphering and translating words. Actually, does anyone know what this means? I'll offer a some of my ideas...
1. duv nodnnatmaqqnahhto - maqqo means son. That's all I know. Oh, and nahht can mean "name".
2. crroscc:nahhtvvddadds:dattr:ann bennises:meqqddrroann - classical ogham, crrosscc may be cross; nahht can mean name too, dattr is (scandinavian?!), and meqq is still son. And maybe all after meqq (ddrroann) is a name of someone.
3. besmeqqnanammovvez - meqq = son, "nammo" is also a "name"?
4. ttlietrenoiddors ..uhtuoaged... - WTF
