Re: Conworlding ideas that you later realized wouldn't work.
I had a race of beautiful, lesbian, blue skinned people. And then I saw the ama safir thread. Ouch.

Re: Poetry Challenge!
Interesting, I would have thought, the satire in the poem to be apparent. Has no one here heard of "A modest proposal"?

Re: The one ring
Translation in Revised Teune(heavy changes here): English: One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them. One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them, in the land of morder where the shadows lie. Tetselketmit erme hukal, Tetselketmit erme kuskal. Seve erme irlutke, un ermeve telak v...

I find this fascinating. Are their social customs different from traditional western customs? How so? How is their behaviour in situations of desire, fear, anger? What is their mode of dress? Please! more, more!

The Cauldron -- A Conworld
The Cauldron is a small conworld that I am working on, it is composed of three continents, several large islands, and countless small islands. The smallest continent is a landmass about half the size of Australia, that is home to the various fiefdoms of the Teune people. The Ezperdeite live on a muc...

Re: New Conlang(Ezperda)
Nice, thanks for catching that. Yes, there are probably a lot of inconsistencies that need to be ironed out. Also, I'm not sure about the technical aspects of it, but I tend to pronounce bilabials as aspirated more easily than other stops. (except when I'm speaking spanish) I decided to incorporate ...

Re: New Conlang(Ezperda)
The way I decided it was that there originally was a complete series of aspirated stops. Due to sound changes, however, the aspiration was gradually lost. However, because of the bilabial nature of /ph bh/, the aspiration is retained, though this will probably be lost in the future. As for /kh/ and ...

Re: When speaking a second language, what accent do you use?
Interestingly enough, I'm familiar enough with spanish that I can sort of get away with my own personal accent. The innovations I make seem to appear very natural to most native spanish speakers. The result being that most natives spanish speakers tend to assume that I'm a native speaker from somewh...

Translate this poem into your conlang! [:D] [:D] *note* Try to keep the meter and the rhyme scheme as much as possible. It is not absolutely required, but in traditional poetry translations, this is usually attempted. Have fun! 'Growth' Pretend you have the capability to hold your father's sword. To...

New Conlang(Ezperda)
I am currently putting Teune on the backburner(although really, it's pretty much a complete language by now). I've kind of wanted to try my hand at making something much like a romlang, and to put my best effort into it. However, I still wish to make it as interesting as I can(within reasonable boun...
Re: Teune
interestingly enough, "Maeden"(the verb) handles inferential evidentiality when used as an auxiliary to the verb "Ist". Assumed knowledge uses the construction: < Ist hast dass... > [/i] Can also be: < Ich hast dass...> [/i] to emphasize assumption under the first person.
Re: Teune
It indicates both obviousness(when the item in question being seen.), and It indicates hearsay, (When the item in question is not seen.)

Re: Teune
Ah, yes, reciprocals. There is no inherent marking or inflection that expresses reciprocation between two nouns, but it may be expressed like so: < (Subject) (Action) (Object) unt (Object) mit (Subject) > [/i] Which is really kind of a pain in the ass to say. But it's the only way to do it. Also, eh...

Hmmm... this is pretty cool. Can you tell me more about any states that might have high levels of corruption? Which states have bad reputations on the world stage?
