Re: The Great Exposition of Ruykkarraber
This looks quite interesting; I always have a soft spot for languages with /p/ as a gap (as opposed to /g/ or other common stops.) What's the deal with these nominalized verbs? --------- On the Mark Rosenfelder stuff, I'm always appreciative of his work. Verdurian may be a Euroclone, but it's a self...

Re: A Sketch of a New Language
This is really cool looking, and I definitely appreciate a more morphosyntactically-oriented approach to making a language -- lots of conlangers, myself included, often get wrapped up in angsting over minor phonological details.

Re: Random phonology/phonemic inventory thread
More of a random idea: morphophonology, but whatever. This is something I've been working on for my latest sketch. Inventory is pretty simple: /p t ts tɬ k q/<p t ts tl k q> /s ɬ h/<s hl h> /m n/<m n> /l ɹ w/<l r w> /i ḭ e ḛ a a̰ o o̰ u ṵ/ Phonotactics are in the most general terms C(V)V(V)(ɹ), but ...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
I'm working on a diachronic conlang with a noun morphology based on this sketch , and am struggling with an issue. The ancestor language, Deligic, marks the singulative form with - g , even when doing so creates fairly intense consonant clusters. This isn't an issue as Deligic allows these. However,...

Re: What do you associate with SOUNDS?
I don't have too many strong associations with sounds, aside from some moderate color associations for a few graphemes, but I do have a bit of synesthesia with linguistic features. The most prominent is that I tend to think of SOV languages as being blue or purple, while SVO and VSO languages are br...

Re: Naming Practices
In Tesazo society, most people only have one name, which we would consider to be equivalent to a given name. Names are commonly composed of compounds of two nouns, usually ones with neutral or desirable connotations, though it's still fairly common to just have a one-word name. These names usually c...
