Re: Elves other than "humans, only awesomer."
Definitely creative... but since you don't call them elves and they don't look or behave like any traditional type of elves, why are you referring to them as elfin? Maybe as an attempt to relate them to more familiar creations? I sometimes refer to my conspecies as goblins, selkies, satyrs, yetis, ...

Re: How NOT to Conworld.
I HATE Elves. With a passion. However, people seem to just LOVE them, and forget that fantasy can exist without them. So I have them in my conworld, and I go to great lengths to make sure that when people read my work, they HATE them - but in a good way, and a way which I personally enjoy. Not beca...

Re: The Conculture/Conpeople Opinions Thread
I stand corrected - that question did come up. My bad. Another con-perspective question: Midhe popularly use seal oil as a food condiment. Thoughts? Considering Seal is much like another aquatic mammal found in northern Greatland, I suppose a Valyk would say something to the effect of: "Yumm! I...

Re: Worth/Honour
Across Greatland, the concept of "Honor" is quantifiable - and is actually kept track of by the Organization responsible for doling out titles of nobility and knighthood, The College of Arms. A good honor score assists in getting a low interest rate for a loan, and an Honor check is requir...

Re: The Conculture/Conpeople Opinions Thread
Assume your conperson is now living in America. How would they view the supposed "threat" of China, and how do they think the U.S. should respond? A Caspernian would posit why we are allowing large corporations to starve our own economy by outsourcing the U.S. Industrial sector overseas, ...

Re: The Pointlessly Awesome
Circular Computing devices that are programmed like one would solve a complex rubix cube, with each cell being a programmable glyph. Since my setting is more "Science Fantasy" than Fantasy or Sci-Fi restrictively, I wanted a computer that didn't look like a computer.

Re: How NOT to Conworld.
Perhaps not. But it's still far-out enough for them not to be archetyped into the same annoying class as 'Legolas' or 'Drizzt Do'Urden.'Micamo wrote:This isn't as creative as you think.

Re: Legendary Beasts
Oh, can I share a factual beast of my Conworld? I personally think it's epic enough to be warranted Legendary =D Hauxedraheos: Looking much like an oversized whale, the Hauxedraheos may grow as long as two hundred and fifty feet in length. It's primary food source is the small fish that swim in the ...

Re: Elves other than "humans, only awesomer."
"Elves" in my Conworld, are called "Kandolari" and they are Elfin in nature, sort of - but really look more like aliens. First off, they are horribly unstable, having several prominent mutagenic strains. Their eyes are big and wide in the traditional elf sense, though they are pu...
