Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Okay, so there is still some confusion here: Plural agreement refers to the number of a certain argument, e.g. the subject, the object or the absolutive marked object. That's what people often gloss PL, usually also specifying the person, e.g. 3PL. Pluractionality on the other hand refers to the num...

What kind of setup are you imagining? At first blush, I wouldn’t think of a protoplanetary disk as something you can build on , since it doesn’t have a surface. It’s just a collection of gas and dust, right? Right, most kinds of discs and rings in our universe are probably not dense enough to built...

How does pluractionality work as lexical derivation rather than inflection? Like pluractionality essentially behaves like this: intransitive: (single subject) = iterative, intensive, completive (e.g. do X totally) (plural subject) = distributive transitive: (single object) = iterative, intensive, c...

Re: Yay or Nay?
Should I add a dedicated negative imperative modal? Right now you say "don't X" by using the regular imperative <G> /long low weak growl/ and use the adverb <rnL> /chuff, early falling weak grunt/ "not" G sKg rnL, G qF sdq! G sKg-0 rnL G qF sdq-0 IMP take-A not IMP only throw-A ...

I have been thinking about flat earth theory a lot. Conworlding-wise there is usually a way to make weird stuff work. So, would a space colony on a proto-planetary disc be possible at all? This would be the closest 'realistic' thing that I could think of.

I also like this post and I think it makes sense for this prefix to become lexicalized. The Indonesian one is also kind of lexicalized compared to other voice prefixes. Interestingly, I think I haven't heard the Indonesian cognate forms of any of your examples. Mata-mata famously means spy in Indone...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
Please elaborate. Sounds like a potentially interesting idea. Would it mean to cause emotions (e.g. to make s.o. cry) or emotions causing stuff (e.g. my sadness made him leave) or causing stuff whike being emotional (e.g. I angrily made him stir the pot)?

That's not true. Mathematicians have come up with systens that allow division by zero. They just lack many interesting and practical properties, IIRC. It's called wheel theory.

Well, if there can be degrees of nasalization in vowels, why not "degrees" of rounding?
