Half term project about conlanging

Hey! I did not know where I should write this, so I chose Beginner's corner- In school I have to work a self chosen theme for a project. I decided to chose conlanging. The project should include a practical and a theoretical part. As practical I decided to wirte a basic grammar, to compose a small d...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Actually, I did not need such a detailed explanation. The first one was absolutely sufficient.
But nevertheless thanks a lot for your effort. It was really quite informative, even if I did not understand everything you wrote there [:)]

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Hej!! As far as I understood, there isn't any category like subject or object in ergative languages, because of the case marking, which makes it difficult to say what's object and subject. But what would be called an indirect object? The direct object is the patient. The subject is the agent. Would ...

Everything that is already wirtten about this conworld sounds really interresting. I would claim the two small pennisulas of the northern continent for my con...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

My language is ergative-absolutiv. The main word order is VSO. But in ergative langs there isn't anything that could truly be considred as subject or object, caused by the way how the roles in sentences are marked, as far as I do understand. Well..., when describing my lang would it be right to desc...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Hello! My conlang has got two forms for each noun:the basic and the derived form. The derived form is derived of the basic using lenition, vowel reduction or suffixation. This derived form is used in word compounds and marks the ergative case. The basic form marks absoluitve case. Out of the the bas...
