Finally back again. *sigh*
Year 12. Terrible stuff.
Anyway, I agree, when the civilisations become more advanced, everything will get much better. I really want to see which civilisations become empires and which become the small parts that everyone invades.

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
As for the technology stuff, it was somewhere stated (in the wiki's front page i think) that the 'present' Teles has 2 billion inhabitants, what, in Earth corresponds to the time period between 1927 and 1959. I guess we could settle the technological level as something in that window, it is indeed ...

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
Meh. Now, I've been ill for a few weeks and haven't been able to access a computer... Hmm. So much to do! 1. Out of the principle of unoriginality, i'd say present day in Teles is around 2000AK. (to get an accurate answer you probably gotta ask Felbah) Correct. 2. So, are we going to make a collabla...

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
That could work. A sort of Atlantaean language family. Good choice. May I suggest some form of Proto-writing which will baffle linguists for years? like some forms of pictograms? I'd say so, if it is a culture which is non-existent in the modern, or even this, era. Think Linear A or the Indus Valle...

Wah! So many questions... So little time! I'm going to add the Tungwani Family to this world once I figure out how to create a new page. EDIT: I would like to claim the area highlighted in red for the Proto-Tungwani language to have resided in, thank you :) http://i.imgur.com/VaBcejv.png That area i...

Sorry for not being on for so long. Lots of stuff happening!
I think that is possible, especially since I am hoping for a significantly water-based society.Iyionaku wrote:Is it possible that Amutetikam people will move eastwards over the sea some day, and land on the Eastern Coasts?

http://i.imgur.com/5EDSFAh.png Revised Nautlic expansion map. I'll have some info about the conlang up soon, too. I'd like to hear TheFluteCat101 about his conlang and people, given that it's likely to be in contact with the Nautlic people. I will ask her to post a bit more about it. She is develop...

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
A little conworld question; Do we know anything about which plants/animals grow/live where? Anything on biomes? Unfortunately, I am not a biologist, and I have no experience on the subject. I would be able to give generic information, but other stuff, not so. If you want, you can do it for yourselv...

I have an idea of a langauge isolate of central Amutet, but since I want it to be a later-recorded langage, I haven't made it as an independent article for it yet. The introduction of the language: http://telesconlang.wikia.com/wiki/User:K1234567890y/Mountaineer_language The place where it was spok...

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
Should the amount of major language families be proportional to the planet's size, i think we might need some more. And of course there should be smaller language families and a few isolates later Is somebody doing a Greeklang or a Celtlang? I'm already busy with Proto-Umbric, so I'm out. Btw. As f...

Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
Phew, I never thought that creating an isolating language would be that... boring. I've got another question (I've got lots, I know  ): Felbah, could you please insert a distance scale (if you knowwhat I mean [:$] )? I'm always wondering how big my island is... because, if Teles is really ...

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Quite the list: I dismantled everything which I had made of Proto-Amutetikam. The grammar was far too simple for what I wanted. I remade it with the following features: A more standardised morphological format, with minimal prefixes, infixes and siffixes, with instead a more Arabic style of morpholo...

Hello everyone! I am the dark green/khaki coloured area on the map. I am new to conlanging but have been interested in it for a while, not knowing what it was called and how to do it. Re: Diachronic Conlanging open world
Just putting it out there that I have started again with my protolang. It was looking too much like English in terms of grammar. I have added in some features which might be found in Arabic, as well as other important developments. I'll keep you updated.
