Quenya's phonology
There's one thing about Quenya's phonology that strikes me as unnatural: the presence of phonemic voiced stops, which only occur when followed by nasals or liquids, and never occur by themselves. It'd make more sense if there was no "nasal/liquid + unvoiced stop" series because the unvoice...

Re: Lesson/Guide Requests
I mentioned this on the L&N questions thread but just to be professional and organized--if there's any desire for Quechua lessons I can do some. NB: I won't teach any dialect except standard Cuzco. That'd be awesome! I've been wanting to learn Quechua for some time, let me know if you end up do...

Re: A leopard cannot change its spots
Classical Nahuatl: I had to change everything to "puma" because there were no cheetahs or leopards near the Aztecs. Is there a word for 'jaguar'? Yes I forgot there is, it's "ocelotl", and the word for "ocelot" is "tlahcoocelotl", which means "half-jagua...

Interesting Interjections and Onomatopoeias
I really like interjections and onomatopoeias in languages (they make it feel alive for some reason) so I was wondering they're like in different languages? It would be interesting to see how they're similar and how they differ, and how different phonemic inventories represent universal sounds. e.g....

Alessio I looked at the Italian lessons and they look great, I'll be sure to use them when I go back to focusing on Italian (hopefully soon!).

Pronouncing uvular consonants (and front vowels)
How do you pronounce uvular consonants? They're really difficult for me, I always need to stretch my mouth super wide and just end up looking like a duck :| I want to learn how to pronounce at least the unvoiced uvular plosive and fricative, preferably without my throat hurting afterward. Uvular con...

Anybody interested in Irish lessons? I could quilt some together if there's a demand. Yes please! That'd be great. As an aside, I'm still learning Classical Nahuatl but am confident I could do lessons for at least basics if anybody wants that. I wouldn't want to do anything complicated until I beco...

I couldn't really figure out if there was a better place to post this, but here seemed to be the best choice, so I apologize if there was an introduction thread that I should have used but didn't see. Anyway, hi! I've been lurking for a week or two so I thought I'd join, and now I have. By the way, ...
