Re: The Conculture/Conpeople Opinions Thread

Next question: What are some of the most famous monumental structures? Essu Beti doesn’t have any yet, so I’ll be answering this for their “mother” country, South Tenahuari. The Ekkur Ili is a temple in the heart of the wealthy district of the coastal city of In Nuni Alu. It’s over a thousand years...

Re: Conworlders' religious influences on conworlds

Im curious what you mean, if youre willing to share. I think its impossible to be truly original when creating a religion because all of the big questions you can think of have been asked and answered. And just within Christianity one can find a wide variety of beliefs. For example, two different t...

Re: The Multiverse Inn

An elven man with surprisingly long hair for his species- almost down to his shoulders- opens the door, takes one look inside, and starts swearing. “Of course there would be another place like this,” he grumbles, glancing around at some of the more unusual patrons of the Inn. “The other bar wasn’t w...

Re: The Conculture/Conpeople Opinions Thread

Next: Does your conculture keep pets? If so, what are common pets they keep? If not, how would the average member of your conculture react to the idea? Most pets in Essu Beti are working animals. Cats are there to keep the introduced rodent population down. Dogs are there to guard the flock and bar...

Re: Conworlders' religious influences on conworlds

I am not religious, but I am American and a lot of American culture comes from a historically Puritan background. I have to keep checking myself to stop molding my concultures similarly. I also keep finding myself accidentally molding my current conreligion to be vaguely similar to the Abrahamic one...

Re: Symbols of Concultures

This is the flag of Essu Beti, currently spoilered because I’m not sure how to resize it in-forum: http://i.imgur.com/CxjD4aw.jpg The colors are very basic and have little symbolism. White because that’s the color cotton or wool comes in, and blue because the most common dye-producing plant on the i...

Re: Are your main conpeople human or of a different species?

Their diet needs to be 70% or more meat. They’re prone to taurine deficiency otherwise. They also, incidentally, have a rather broad variety of sensitivities and restrictions. Onions, garlic, chocolate, and grapes among other things are straight-up toxic, and they’re much more sensitive to alcohol a...

Re: Are your main conpeople human or of a different species?

Essu Beti is a mix of roughly 30% human and 70% elven. Naturally, I’ve followed my usual trend of making unusual variants of said classic fantasy species by making Betian elves marsupial hypercarnivores with prehensile tails. But they can still be called elves because they’re humanoids with pointy e...

Re: The Conculture/Conpeople Opinions Thread

Next: Whether positively or negatively regarded, how to people in your culture view those in authority, and what do they wish might change? I'll use Essu Beti for this one. Betians are in an odd place right now. Their background culture is fairly authoritarian, with a major emphasis placed on blind...

Onaq Onaq is that continent south of Aspe, the one split in half by the mountain range known as the Qellas mountains. It's decently hot, mostly wet on the west side and mostly dry on the east side, and supports a wide variety of plants and animals which I have mostly stolen from South America. Nota...

Well, then , Argenzu says, rolls up the sleeves of his clothing and presents his hands. Small punctures are noticeable if looked at carefully. Re: The Multiverse Inn

It's probably best to accept the other species' limitations. You go vegetarian, they have their meat. That's how we avoided tension over food, mostly – and blowing guts. "Why would I go vegetarian for? I like a good steak just as much as the next guy. More even, if you guys are herbivores. Ain...
