Re: Calas Abran (قَلَص أَۏْرَن)

Not much to comment at the moment. Interested to see how triconsonantal roots work with those constraints of some consonants appearing in some positions. I hate people commenting orthography when they don't understand anything else, but anyways. Your usage of Arabic letters is quite creative. Persi...

Re: Calas Abran (قَلَص أَۏْرَن)

I have decided to double-down on the masculine and feminine nature of CA's inspiration. There will be masculine and feminine nouns (perhaps, even verbs). The roots for men and women are <ۏرن> and <عون>, respectively. <ۏر> and <عو> mean "penis" and "vagina." These are colloquialis...

Calas Abran (قَلَص أَۏْرَن)

The name, pronounced [kʌ'lʌs ʌb'ɬʌn], may change, but this is the demonstration of what I think was always my linguistic David in the marble. (You know, the thing that I have truly been making since I started conlanging 8 years ago, even if having to be shown through the many featurally iterative di...

Re: Ánni

Truth be told, I greatly appreciate the co-articulatory nature of that phase of your language's history. It is like a slightly more aggressive version of Yele Dnye. I presume you insist that such a phase was unstable, and changed rather quickly. Basically, be proud of what you made, and, always reme...

Re: Ánni

This is genuinely exceptional and quite adventurous in regards to its phonology. That is a love of mine, oddly enough, and it makes me smile to see your wonderful concepts. The grammar was a slight bit hard to follow, but I love this. Ultimately, I want to know what made you come to this amount of d...

Re: PPIE

To be frank, there's a lot of blurring between "PPIE" and "PIE". Most of the "PIE" you'll see is actually just LPIE - that is, Late Proto-Indo-European, rather than Proto-Indo-Hittite. I don't think we can really securely reconstruct PIH, so a lot of the PIE you'll see...

PPIE

Got a question, has anyone ever figured to derive a reasonably viable protoform for PIE? Speaking bluntly, PIE, for what we think it is, is typologically odd (of course, there are stranger): breathy voiced consonants without the accompanying voiceless set, a horizontal vowel system with ablaut, and ...

More if you mixed an X and Y chromosome: an X with the Y tail betwixt its lower extremities. (It's a well-endowed vowel system.)

Re: Crona (UPDATE)

My final update to the phonology of this project I love so much. It possesses the best aesthetics of all of my dead projects and they live on through it. This has Quenya for a base, but is an amalgam of differently inspired ingredients -- those being: Latin, Greek, Japanese, and Muskogean and Siouan...

Since you have *some* remnant of labials, might adding /ɯ u/ suit your fancy?

Also, it faintly reminds me of the proto-form of my current project.
