Re: CBB Conlang Relay XII - ONGOING (signups remain open)

Sure! I will add you when I get my laptop back tomorrow. The tech thing is Unlikely to be an issue but of course I cannot vouch for any untoward developments between now and you! [>:D] Awesome. I’ll be join go with Yinše then. It’ll be a bit more of a challenge, but probably more fun too. FWIW, I h...

Re: CBB Conlang Relay XII - ONGOING (signups remain open)

I'd like to sign up for Ring 1, if possible. Assuming the text requires the use of vocab and concepts from the modern era, I'd like to use Weddisch. I'd like to use Yinše, but its vocab is pretty limited as the speakers are semi-nomadic pastoralists whose technology is about copper/bronze age level.

"Adjectives" Adjectives take the form of stative verbs. They frequently show up marked with the relativizer =š , especially when the noun is marked for a case other than ‘P’. They can also stand alone as nouns when marked with =š . (6) copæ het’e sum cop-æ het’e sum fish-P be.large swim 'the large ...

Re: Yinše

I’ve decided to make some changes to Yinše. There are many aspects of this conlang that I really like, but a couple big things that just didn’t sit well with me. The two main areas I plan on tweaking are vowel harmony and syntatic alignment. I know many here don’t like short posts, but this is going...

Re: Con-Script Development Centre

In a hieroglyphic-esque system (à la Mayan), assume a series of phonetic complements that can attach to the glyphs. Is it reasonable that these complements could begin to stand alone and form the basis of a syllabary, or is that implausible? I don’t think it’s implausible but I think the way those ...

No, you got it right. {zhae er} does translate to "that creature" because there isn't a 1-1 way to translate "man" from ic griuskant to irl English. What loglorn posted as the torch was what I estimated from loglorn's conlang into English, not translated from my conlang text (This was the instructi...

Re: CONLANG RELAY XI

By the way, what kind of evil sorcery happened to "the man himself" in ring 1? The highest man, revered by everyone, changed into "that man", then he became a creature, a monster, a hateful soul, and in the end he was merely an angry spirit. I can shed some light on this. “The man himself” was rend...
