Re: CBB Conlang Relay XIV - IT BEGINS (late signups accepted)

For the sake of time, I’ll pull out of this relay. That way ring one can just end when Salmoneus is finished with their torch. Lexember is using up enough of my time. I’ll catch the next relay.

Weddisch je /jɛ/ “yeah, yes; used as a modal partial for information that the speaker assumes is already known, may be translated as ‘you know’. In this context it may also be used interrogatively when the speaker expects affirmation” Ex. 1: Myn schank is je broken . /mɛɪn ʃɑŋk ɪs jɛ bɾɔːkn̩/ “As y...

NatLang Diachronic Challenge

Taking inspiration from the “Quick Diachronic Challenge” thread in the Conlangs forum, I thought I’d throw together a similar challenge based on natlangs rather than conlangs. So, below I have ten words from five closely related languages, which are labeled A-E. While the languages all descend from ...

Re: Lexember 2021 - Open to Weekly Theme Suggestions!

I think it would be interesting to see some words which express the literary, mythological, or musical culture of the conlangs.

I’m very interested and excited to see what you come up with! I’ve always been very impressed by your work.

I think I had the most fun working on Gotski/Sortsbergish.

Welcome! I've already moved Acipencer to ring 2 so I've added you to Ring 1 after Salmoneus, if that's OK :D
Sounds good to me. Thanks!

Re: CBB Conlang Relay XIV - IT BEGINS (late signups accepted)

If you still need to fill a void in ring 2, I’ll join with Weddisch. It’s been almost a year since I’ve been active here and I wouldn’t mind warming up before Lexember.

Re: CBB Conlang Relay XIII

I've gone over my time limit, so I assumed I can't do anymore. It's just in English now. That’s not how it works. The key part of the relay is translating it and handing it off so that we can see the end result. The timeframe is just so that the whole thing doesn’t take forever but isn’t a hard lim...

So are you just not translating it or gonna go into a different conlang...?

Hi! Don’t worry, if you’re up for it I can still add you to Ring 1 since it has one player less than Ring 2.
Oh, well sure! I’ll join with Yinše.

You're welcome. And I see you added some cousin terms. What do you call nieces and nephews who are your spouse's sibling's children? Good question! I don't know yet. Edit: I actually got this mixed up. The children of one's same sex sibling and of your spouse's same sex sibling are your sons/daught...

Lexember 16 Yemya I decided to do kinship terms today and I kinda went all out. I've opted not to include etymologies right now, though I may add them in later in a spoiler. Yemya has lost a lot of IE features like declension and conjugation. But I decided that kinship terms is one of the ways it's ...
