Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Not sure what the question is asking (like in terms of person evaluation or affixation markedness), but in my conlang, if a verb does not seem to have a subject, then it just refers to itself or an empty box word.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

^My conlang does something like that too (except that it uses step mechanisms instead of replacing it entirely, etc). I just call them the verb class affix (though in my conlang, it also doubles as the active voice affix by default), and the adjective class affix (even when my conlang also doesn't d...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I mean, if we're analysing it langly instead of lingly, it shall be false more often than not because most languages would have their own categorisation system, innit? For example, that other natlang that I speak has only 4 categories: nouns, verbs, adjectives and task words. The “task words” aren’...

Re: Stress and rhythm oddities

^Upflow happens when an unstressed syllable proceeds to a stressed syllable in a word. All griuskant words have initial stress. Hence, if stress occurs elsewhere in the word, it would be perceived as a start of a new word, which wouldn't be what is intended. Ie, all words should have a downflow. Her...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

Unless y'all are referring to "adverbs" in the meta-linguistic sense, fyi that other natlang that I speak as well as my conlang has no adverbs (as its own class/category), and they seem to work fine. If a language sees itself having no adverbs from its own perspective, I don't see what's the big dea...

Re: Superweapons in Your Conworld / Connation

Well, there are magic spells that can delete entire existences and machineries that might disassemble the space-time-*higher continuum of universes, so I suppose these count as more than superweapons in my conworld. Of course, the real question is, is one ready to fulfill the requirements, or how li...
