Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I've further amended my history of the Bokisig Confederation , sometimes a bit drastically, and added two maps (sadly a grid line shows up quite prominently as a black bar in large zooms such as these). I also think I might push the timeline for when Early Bokisig changes into Classical back a bit. ...

Re: CBB Conlang Relay XII - SIGNUPS OPEN - STARTING Saturday 11th July

I want to take part, with either Bokisig (Early or Classical, depending on how early or late it'll be my turn), or possibly Mbath, a new lang that at the moment doesn't really have that much grammar, and basically zero vocab.

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

@Khemehekis I'm currently putting some cities onto my map, and also want there to be two cities in a kingdom called Nedusu that is descended from the Txabao people coming to the area (around PS8300, the cities may have been founded later). Would you mind coming up with two good truly native Txabao n...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I've put a bit more history up on the wiki, and there are over 600 words, plus a couple of grammar articles on the CWS page for Early Bokisig.

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

Three weeks since the last post on here [:O] I've kept working on Early Bokisig despite not publishing anything on here or fandom-wiki; vocabulary items entered on ConWorkShop are now up to 350, and I've recorded my sound changes in the PhoMo format used on there, so that I can more easily create th...

Re: Tulemo

It's actually uralt without <h>, though it's pronounced the same, and is, as far as I know and wiktionary can be trusted, unrelated to Uhr , the former stemming from a Proto-Germanic root and the latter from Latin hora . ur- is a common prefix for anything that's old, and e.g. also used to refer to ...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

The Txabao might attack from the west, sensing the weakness of the still fairly young confederation; or trade ties with the Txabao are strengthened, and there is consequently more cultural contact. I feel the latter might be better, unless Khemehekis has his heart set on a war around 8450PS [:D] I'...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I'm confused. I thought the Txabao would exist and splinter a bit before the rise of the Neduki and the proto-group itself is not the Neduki. Yes that's exactly how I had thought of it too; to give an approximate date, in what I've sketched so far the Txabao would first cross the mountains around 8...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I've posted a fair bit about the political landscape and the structure of the Bokisig Confederation on the wiki . Regarding contact with the other peoples of that time, that could mean: The Txabao might attack from the west, sensing the weakness of the still fairly young confederation; or trade ties...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

The sun, however, got mad (about the theft) and did come out again for five hundred years. I believe you mean "did not come out again". Great story -- I've never heard a myth quite like that before! Thank you for the compliment as well as spotting the error - I'd noticed it myself even, but only co...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I have now uploaded the glossed Early Bokisig translation of the first myth of Pessig, including some comments , on the conworkshop. I will also link it on the relevant fandom-article I made, mostly because the gloss shows up better on there (it might prove quite complicated to gloss on fandom-wikia...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

Brblues: Do you have any sketchy idea of pronouns for a western Bokisig language during or after their age of confederation? The pre classical Kojikeng are in the market for a new 1st or 2nd pronoun :p Sure, the NOM / ACC (they are identical) Early Bokisig forms are: 1SG /mu/ 2SG /dɛx/ 3SG /ki/ [hu...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I would also gladly loan the word for "ashes (cremated remains)" then in case the practice is also adopted by some of my people! On the historical timeline page, I've added a link to the newly created page for our mythical city, and I've already entered the earliest Bokisig myth about the city. More...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

If you agree, I can have a go at trying to flesh out the mythical city, which would mean it'd be a Bokisig myth? That works for me. Like, the city is first attested in Bokisig writing? Yes, but it doesn't even have to be; there could still be attestations, even in earlier ones, elsewhere. I'd just ...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

Yeah it's unfortunate. I guess one thing we could do is keep notes in the main timeline brief and important and leave full histories to dedicated pages. I have not looked into the details but something like the tables available to wikipedia would be great. That would be a possibility, especially ca...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I will take a look at the timeline and hopefully be able to update some stuff about the Bokisig. If a table doesn't work, maybe we could add stuff regarding different regions in different colours (if that's possible)? I'll leave the decision about the modern power source up to you guys cause at my c...

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

I've entered etymologies for almost all entries in the dictionary on CWS so far, except of course for roots. Now that you got around 500 words, the etymology "Loan from Txabao" may also appear more frequently [:D]

Re: Damta: A collaborative world

Once again great work on the map, Nachtuil! I've started posting my lang, now renamed Early Bokisig (since the "proto" label didn't really fit anymore, given the time I've been spending developing that lang :D ), on conworkshop (cws), which I mostly find handy for the dictionary, which can be found...
