Verbs and The Copula: This'd be WORLDS easier if I could straight-up copy my charts... I feel this is the most distinguishing feature of the language: its copula. Nouns There is no gender or plural. Instead noun declension is about definitiveness and, by extension, physical placement relative to the conversation. By default, the “dictionary definitions” are all the coda-less indefinite, which is used when position or number is irrelevant or impossible, or wh...

Re: What kind of conlanger are you?

Someone asked if I was filler, but I'd say I'm perfectionist.

Yes I have other projects in development (and concepts for a dozen more cultures and langs), but my main, and for a long time only, project is entering its third year and seventh overhaul because it doesn't feel good enough.

Dragonese Numbers. Or rather, lack of. No, that' s not right either. It's an Alphabetic numeral system that skips one specific consonant letter. AND it's over base-10 A dragon's claw has 4 fingers/talons/whatever you call it, but "B-ćó" (one-claw) is 20. B-ca (one-village) is 400. And I need some ne...

How unusual is a language with very few voiced fricatives? I think natural Spanish lacks any: no z, v, ð, and ʒ. But my personal project has Z [ʒ] (and in turn [dʒ]) as its only voiced fricative. I'm not aiming for naturalism (in fact, it's artificial in-universe), but I want a little realism. OTOH,...
