If it's been a while, you can submit again. I think I did that.

Re: Anybody else working on conlangs with non-human phonologies?

Truthfully, the most valuable thing to me was just seeing a crow phonology. I can kind of make one on my own, but at the same time, it was much better to see someone else's work, since they'd find things I'd miss. There was this book I saw at a thrift store yesterday about synthesizing speech. Exact...

Re: The Great Exposition of Ruykkarraber

I thought see was fundamentally transitive - as in, the word implies something is being seen? Halkomelem treats it that way too.

A conscript for Vietnamese

I think this acting as an example has potential for ideas in conscripts in general.
If there's a more worthy thread for it, please let me know.

Re: Vision's Archive

Let’s now make some more complex sentences. Firstly, since the main thing is that the phrase be OV, the subject can be displaced. (So, OVS) Kás’kuja Bi’ Teira Naka Gē Home-ObjC.sg Go Hyena-SuT.pl Went home did the hyenas. Now, I don’t know what exact syntax rules I had in mind here long ago, but her...

My basic notes looked like this: SOV Describer-Described Genitive/opposite case Aux THEN described Topic Comment instead of reg. S/O (I had no idea how to do this, so I ended up creating man entirely new thing. In retrospect, this to me is what half-knowing something can make: something original) Gr...

Re: Commonthroat: a language that only a dog could probably pronounce

You know, the diminutive can get lexicalized. I learnt a while ago those fuzzy hats are called Shtraimlach (sg. Shtraimel) in Yiddish, which is in the diminutive by default. (I have absolutely no idea what the etymology is, though.)

Aramaic does prefix cases though. Yahɔv Leh Rə'uven LəShim`on Bəkaspi He-Gave to-him, Reuben OBJECT-Simon OBLIQUE-money Reuben gave Simon money. I.e. Lə and Bə for Object (normally accusative, but sometimes dative; can be genitive) and Oblique (in, on, at, alongside, by means of (this latter sense c...

Short vocabulary: Naka - hyena (also, degenerate) Ká'skuja - home Teira - walk, later changed to go Axau' - a kind of vegetable (looks like an endive I guess, provides a peppery flavour, used like bonito flakes are in Japan) Pūzé - eat Bajei - vegetable food (in general) Verbs are marked with -jeu f...

So the liturgical language was basically whoever controlled that place?
Did they have archaic forms that kept getting used (like Latin)?

A Salmoneus Aklaykum. Alaykum A Salmoneam.

I would only shorten it in the context of the names already being known. But for me, this would be a great time to conculture rules about who you tell your name to.

Re: Commonthroat: a language that only a dog could probably pronounce

you made a language for Furries. I've been thinking this for a long time. That's why I like your work in a way, Lurker. I like anthropomorphic stuff, and you do it in a very pleasant, unique way they have not done, and maybe won't ever. (Edit: on second thought, they probably will never. You are no...
