Re: Jokes
Got a new joke book. Here's a piece: A little girl insists to her parents she is finally old enough to say her evening prayers without their help. They relent and let her begin her prayers, which she says in complete innocence: "Our Father who art in Heaven, Hollow be thy name. Give us today to...

I mean, golems can't talk, but a golem sign language would be interesting.

I was actually wondering that. I like it.
If I can be any help, please let me know. I can't say I'll be able to see my PMs so often, but if you give me clear goals and direction, I'd love good puzzles, like this.

Well okay then.
Could you make the spoiler charts, but showing where the stress is on the syllables? Maybe I can figure it out.

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here
First things first: You don't have to adhere to the 3-mora rule exactly. Not even Latin does (it counts —CVC# as one mora instead of two). Maybe make the last two more of the superheavy into one mora? So /ma.a.n-za.an/ as opposed to /ma.a.n-za.a.n/. /ma.an-ma.a.n-za.a.n/ with stress in the middle as...

Only relevant if you are writing a novel (guy says so in his video).
If you're just world building for the heck of it - eh. It's arguably a sign you can send your conworld to a publisher.

Banality of good
Everyone talks about the banality of evil, but what about the banality of good? For example: What is filial piety? Is it a son giving up his life for his father? Is is extreme deference in his everyday conduct? Sure. But at its very core, it's listening to his father even when there is basically no ...

I read the two stories. Here are my thoughts. Farspeaker draft Definite improvement. The verbosity does make it less punchy, though I'm enjoying gleaning things from the extra detail. Are witches a thing? It wouldn't surprise me some old stuff would get preserved from the shamanistic days - look at ...

From what I can tell, when not a palatal (or palatal/labiovelar) contrast, it only occurs on certain consonants - typically either sonorants, or labials and perhaps dentals. However, just because a real language hasn't done it, doesn't mean it's a bad idea. I personally have wanted to make a plain-v...
