Re: The Lonely Galaxy Megathread (comments encouraged)

So the liturgical language was basically whoever controlled that place?
Did they have archaic forms that kept getting used (like Latin)?

A Salmoneus Aklaykum. Alaykum A Salmoneam.

I would only shorten it in the context of the names already being known. But for me, this would be a great time to conculture rules about who you tell your name to.

you made a language for Furries. I've been thinking this for a long time. That's why I like your work in a way, Lurker. I like anthropomorphic stuff, and you do it in a very pleasant, unique way they have not done, and maybe won't ever. (Edit: on second thought, they probably will never. You are no...

Postman Pat is one of the most wholesome shows there is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wHiBJ8PErU Also, can I add that season 1 of Postman Pat is lovely? For one, unlike a lot of shows, it happily involves the different seasons, instead of just summer. Everything is wholesome, but realistic in a ...

One thing that makes archiving on here hard is that these things are texts. These texts developed as I wrote them, self-referencing their prior words, changing things as they went on, sometimes leaving things unexplained, much like a proper corpus of literature over time. Therefore, by me presenting...

I've had similar thought when reading. But then, sometimes you just want so badly to see a book as a movie.

I agree. I imagine that 1) at some points, mechs didn't exist, so this provision would have to be made; and 2) even with mechs, at some point you just need a tree pupper.

Vision's Archive

Alright, I'm joining the trend. I'm making an archive. Mind you, not a sketchpad or scrap page. I don't think either terms cover what I want to do. I like archiving my work in real life. I'm going to post archived langs here. Some are scraps, but some are more worked out. Maybe they may pick up from...

Re: Whale Linguistics

I remember hearing Orcas have complex "language" like Salmons said, but it's tied to food resources or something = along with naming. I'm having trouble finding this though. Gosh I wish there was a compilation of stuff like this for animal conlanging. A cetacean conlang would be so cool, a...

It doesn't need to publishable - is anything we make here? So long as it doesn't dampen you from posting and explaining this to us on the forum, it might be able to help.

Re: SBäk e Dlor

Maybe reorganize what you have and compile it into a PDF? That would make for not only organization, but the beginnings of a proper ref. grammar.
