Re: Playing with 3S Language
I can make a mathematical context for 3S. This will apply to Alien. The 3S dictionary may be presented as an algebra of equations. The language may define itself assuming Alien knows 6th grade human math.

Re: "Remix Earth"
It's a shaman who can see the world from above. This also relates to reports of near-death experiences when the patient is observing their surgery while floating near the ceiling. Synthetic imagery. Then there's primitive tech... like as a hot-air balloon.

From above, the image of the land appears to be 4-legged creature. I hope the people can fly up and have a look.
Re: Numerals
I'm content with nothing, few, many and extreme. Feel no need to measure with exactness . A language of accountants and traders do this too well. Just listen to the news that reports data as numbers and every day. It is their value system and defined a language system . I'm not dissing mathematics. ...

We have the story of The Tower of Babel ... before many languages there was one. It's indeed a joke.

Re: What kind of conlanger are you?
I am a loyalist it seems. I learned aUI from Weilgart and then after 3 years began to amend it. It needed logical corrections no matter his genius. It's still coherent with his form and linguistic theory. My work is settled, and I'll make no further advancement. I have known his students and have st...

Re: Playing with 3S Language
I find a 3S language is not well suited to linear writing. It's good for conversation and art. These relate to an immediate context of existence. I could not write a story in 3S without illustration or some such relational context.

Re: A One World Language
I think this thread has veered off topic a fair bit (although, again, I'm still not sure what the original topic was supposed to actually be), so, if possible, would people mind getting back on topic, or it might be worth locking the thread Having a one world language is not a new idea. I reason if...

So, sweetie, what do you want to eat?
I eat this thing relation to love.
This?

Re: A One World Language
There's a religious language from Africa referred to as The Royal Language. I first heard it from a singer and kora player who had learned it in the South Georgia Sea Islands (USA). He sang with the sound of baby babble. I think the story of that area is a slave ship grounded there, and so that's wh...

Re: A One World Language
bub is short for bubba, which translates as friend or 'togetherness-human'. bubba is likely of African origin. I've had some interaction with the Bahai. They are officially content with Esperanto as their chosen aux language. I suppose most Bahai have no concern for this. Most Bahai are Americans. I...

A One World Language
English is the world language of commerce and accountants. Reject. All conlangs have potential to be adopted as universal language. Please submit your proposals to the Bahai. Their prophet at first suggested the language be Arabic and then revised this to Esperanto. His request for a one world langu...

Re: Negation
In my 3S language there is one symbol/phoneme that serves for negation. y . This sound represents 'spitting out' or perhaps more extremely 'puking' . It is Opposition. ye could mean either no communication or poor communication or evil communication. These might be equal. The listener must always re...

Re: Making a Music Culture?
I've come up with a preliminary description of the Tim Ar musical scale: I enjoy the Oops! Can you illustrate a simple harmonic composition? But that seems difficult. I can imagine tuning 2 flutes that would together give 9 tones in an octave- 4 with one, 5 with another... I don't know. An ensemble...
