Oh, goodness. You do realize that lsd's "language" is just whatever he comes up with on the spot, and has little to no consistency instance-to-instance?

grammar of the thing If I improvise-translate a sentence, perhaps I will get a clue as to what to do with the grammar. * "If" expressed the verb /kurɑ/ "to cause," in its irrealis form. * The language is SVO. [ . I improvise-translate a sentence] kurɑ-IRR-(other inflection?) [pe...

Coda /b s k/ → high tone on previous vowel At which point does it become sound change and not just allophony? Because all of /ab as ak/ would be [á], right? Sound changes are what causes allophony though. It just takes more changes to make the changes phonemic. Yes, I just wonder if it makes sense ...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I’m afraid my phonology is not super natural and I’ve done almost no proto-lang work, so I need some kind of historical justification for my weird phonology. Specifically, I have labialized consonants, but only on voiceless consonants that aren’t fricatives, and all labialized nasals & approxim...

Re: How do you format your dictionaries/grammars?

For Ởnh·Vú I just use a really long google doc that’s gotten so big it won’t open on my phone anymore and with the words randomly assorted as they were added. I should someday make something more systematic but the more words I add the harder it gets to organize I've fallen into that trap before, a...

I've heard the term "clonging" before, though maybe that just refers to conlanging itself. "Clonging" is indeed another word for "conlanging," and "clong," "conlang." I've not heard "clang" before, but it is an excellent meaning and word.

I don't have synaesthesia; the video was partially inspired by John Quijada's stuff. (And partially by the realization that I needed a video to upload it as a video, and didn't want to just have a blank screen the whole time [xD]) I wasn't sure whether you had synaesthesia or not. For that matter, ...

The verb "brinkiandjya" (lit: to have to occur) is one of those often encountered "agglutinations on-the-fly" in Itlani. It is unlikely to appear in any dictionary. 3SDL works exclusively like this, with a feeling of extreme freedom, that of being, at every moment of elocution, ...

<smsFsFg> means something like "nemesis". You could describe a bully as <smsFsFg>, for example. <smqMng> simply means someone who is at cross purposes with you. It can mean combatants on either side of a war who don't hold personal animosity toward one other, or opponents in a game, or in...

Yep! Many people have tried their hand at it, including many on this board. I've never done it from Modern English, but I have done it from Old English.
