Re: Handling multiple romanizations for the same sound

3SDeductiveLanguage(1Sense=1SIgn=1Sound) is presented with different romanizations : - in French and English, depending of the audience... - and some which describe their phonographic sides (phonetically), - others their semantic sides (in the form of back translation) - the most exotic their sign s...

Re: Which part of grammar are you specializing in as a conlanger nowadays?

the lexicon is the part that has always interested me, maintaining an a priori language in the philosophical sense of the term, semantics is the center of concerns, I have also simplified by merging syntax and morphology by removing the pivotal predicate, there is no more difference between words an...

Re: Your first conlang

I’d distinguish between world-internal and world-external romanizations. A romanization created by people within a conworld (equivalent to Nahuatl) has every reason to be just as quirky as a native writing system because it’s subject to whatever historical baggage those people bring to the table. A...

Anyone who can translate a sentence into their conlang can participate in the Conlang Conversa...

Re: What kind of conlanger are you?

I liked the “in remission” aspect,
since outright abandonment
is always, in my opinion,
and in the absence of possible proof to the contrary,
only temporary,
and conlanging can take other,
more discreet but nonetheless,
real forms...

Re: What kind of conlanger are you?

Former . Language inventors who, for whatever reason, have either consciously set aside or unconsciously lost interest in the art. There was a time, from 1999 to 2002, when I wasn't doing any conlanging, nor conworlding. But I wouldn't call myself former. How about nonlanger : a non-conlanger who h...

as few as possible, I don't keep any archive or dictionary, except the one in my mind... to do it right, I'd have to delete each previous message before any new word, to avoid any global consistency at the detriment of the consistency of the moment... each word should be its first coinage, and its l...

Re: Conlang mini-ideas

I think this is pretty much of a concession that lsd is just making up random strings on the spot, and the "language" is vacuous. exactly, it's about making up ever new strings on the spot, to transcend the vacuum of language... I've heard that suspicion expressed before... by Jörg I thin...
