Re: Welsh dictionary?

I have been told Gary King's dictionary is a very good one to use and have been suggested to use it by other people learning the language.

Re: Heimi An'danna - critics welcomed!

If you want to learn more about Geography, you should rent some books (I suggest " Introducing Physical Geography by Alan & Arthur Strahler " if possible) or check out this cartography forum and look into their tutorial section or ask questions. They have tuts on proper river placement...

Re: Linguistic Resources

Omzinesý, I could give some details on grammar. I have the Lakota Dictionary , which contains a very large and thorough explaintion of grammar, and have been learning it here and there. [:)] Other than that, for online grammar, I would suggest checking out the Lakota forums here (Waŋyáŋkiŋ yé.). The...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

@sangi39: That's what I assumed. I have been searching some more and still couldn't find a direct answer. I even checked out my local library, and couldn't find anything. I just had a feeling "collective pronouns" didn't exist, and were just pronouns. What would be the best way to describe...

Re: (L&N) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

This might be a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer on the internet. It rewords it to something else. I have been reading a lot of Linguistics books and decided to talk about it with few people yesterday (one was a friends, the others strangers) when someone said something about &q...

I was going to say something very similar to Keenir's response. [:P]

I would love to see this continued, and I know some others who would as well. [:D]

Re: Ask me anything about the Amjati or the Inyauk.

Oh, sorry about that! I meant do the Amjait/Inyauk see them inferior in anyway , so my question was answered. :) I like the Inyauk view on the rich/wealthy. They are my kind of people. [;)] Hmm, something more specific? Okay, do they have anything that is taboo against the gods(or the gods consider ...

Re: Ask me anything about the Amjati or the Inyauk.

I have some more questions regarding them both. :) What are their views on poverty? Do the rich see the poor as inferior, or? What are their views on women? Do they allow them to work? And if so, are there any restrictions on what they may do? Are there things that are forbidden (taboo) to the Amjat...

Re: Ask me anything about the Amjati or the Inyauk.

I have something to ask about the Amjati (and the Inyauk), if I may. [:O]

Do they have music? If so, what kind of music is it and does it play an important role in their society (like for religious purposes)?
Are there any "holy" days they celebrate?

Re: Hand-held Conlanging Guide (WIP)

I hope this post wasn't a violation to any of the rules on the forum. It isn't that old of a thread... [xP] This is a good guide. I'm trying to get a friend into conlanging and he's intimidated by all the sites out there (wikipedia, zompist etc etc) and their explanations. He said he wanted somethin...

@xingoxa: You have given me a lot of needed information that I am grateful to have! So for example, agreement on numbers (in English for example) would be the 'changes' of "that" to "those" (etc etc) in the sentence " That sock is mine!" > " Those socks are mine!&q...

Oh wow! Thanks again for answering my questions xingoxa and with such detailed posts! :) Just to make sure I understood what you meant (so I don't leave with any uncertainty); there isn't a difference between GEN Case or possessive case? I could use the GEN case in both possessive and the other mean...

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I have a quick question, if I may. :) Is it possible to have multi cases, or would it be best to limit it? For example, locative case, Instrumental case, and Lative case? Or is there a general outline for conlangs on how many cases they should (so I do not go overboard lol) accept? Philámayayapi, K~

Re: (Conlangs) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I'm not very sure I know what "lexemes" are. For example, the book lists the below sentence and says there are 16 lexemes in the sentence. My friend and I walk to class together, because our classes are in the same building and we dislike walking alone. What I counted: My(1) friend and I(...
