Not sure what to say besides that...?
If you haven't heard of Terry Pratchett, read those books.

Re: Units of measurement
@Yacay:
A radian isn't technically a unit, as it is the ratio of the arclength to the radius, but if you are going to use radians, may I ask A) what is pi^c notation and B) why your conpeople use pi (instead of, say, tau)?

Re: Your favourite word in your Conlang?
Haha that's great. "Don't blame me officer! It was atjur!" :P xrote /xɹo:te/ - This one's hard to explain. It's like a movement from the very core of something outwards. A volcano exploding would be xrote, as would the sudden lunge of a panther or the bursting of a dam. It can also apply t...

Re: The Safety Tolerance of P-Space
The Safety Rails, even at it's most lax setting, prevent this. In taking away a thinking human's ability to choose evil, you take away their ability to choose good; you take away their ability to choose. The Safety Rails, in this way, are dehumanizing. So What? I'm not going to respond to the rest ...
Re: VERBS!
English doesn't always conjugate verbs to the 'proper' tense either. I can talk about the future in the present tense and nobody looks at me funny. eg 'I am going to a play later.' or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure I posted something about making a multithreaded language that can have multiple thoughts going on at once. I certainly wouldn't be able to understand it.

Re: The Truly Alien
How is it not a language? As far as I'm concerned, language is a method of communication. If a certain string of words gives information, and effectively communicates it (as this stack example does), why does it not count as a language? Anyways, as Micamo just said, this is not supposed to be a comp...

See my post vosel. It makes sense. The only reason it doesn't make sense immediately is because it is alien.

And if that still doesn't make sense to you, here's what the stack would look like with each successive word I You I Llama You I A llama You I You with a llama I You have sex with a llama I You want to have sex with a llama I Why you want to have sex with a llama I I understand why you want to have ...

So like assembly or some other basic programming language? That's really freaking cool.
Re: Emotions
Yeah, I hate the way English handles love. I mean, I generally use it for a few really distinct feelings, but they all get tangled up with each other when you say it in English. I generally make three divisions when putting it into a conlang: 1) A superlative version of like. E.g. I love pasta. 2) T...

Re: Project Idea: Rosetta Stone
If you're so worried about cultural neutrality, you could go for a wtfuxlang ideology and write a story that none of the cultures would agree on. Then you could write a sentence saying how it is all lies afterwards. I do like the roaming philosopher idea though.

SLiV, I'm almost 100% sure that that's not what hypocritical means. I would be being hypocritical about my birthdate if I was complaining about nobody else saying theirs, and I didn't as well. Hypocriticism implies that I am doing what I am telling other people not to do, which is why it doesn't mak...

Re: Planimal
You could kick out a respiratory system. The plants would oxygenate the animal part and the animal could supply carbon dioxide to the plant. Eh, not quite. See, even though plants photosynthesize, they also use cellular respiration. 6CO2 + 6H2O + Light (energy) → C6H12O6 + 6O2. However, the whole p...

Re: Planimal
Algae and fungi are both basically "planimals" already. Seriously. Fungi are weeeeeeird. As far as what you're actually thinking, I dunno. I can't see it evolving, that's for sure. Maybe for some reason all the living things on your planet share a similar sexual organism. That way, if a pl...
