Re: Your favorite major, published con-stuff?
Dammit, everyone, stop being so laconic! Don't just say what your favorite stuff is; tell us why . Nobody else (certainly not me) is gonna Google the authors and works you mention and spend hours reading about them to try and approximate at why they're your favorite, but they (and particularly, I) ...

My favorite phoneme is /r/ (or any rhotic really). Why? Because every "rich" and "Attractive word I use has /r/ in it.

Ill give it a good read over once I have time XD And yes I understand. I almost did an essay on Ender's Game once, but the teacher scrapped it. The opening had me stuck...

If I were you I would represent the palatalized consonants as <Cj> rather than C + superscript <j>. I'll look the rest over when I have more time. Please excuse my late response. The palatal stops are marked with the superscript to differentiate them from coronal stops that were followed by an /j/-...

Re: Other Creativity
Here's the first two paragraphs of a short story I'm working on. (any crapiness should be pointed out blatantly and shoved on the face of the author with abandon) I didn’t know who he was--I never even bothered to ask him his name. All I know is between that time when he offered me an umbrella outsi...

Just started on syntax and got a faint idea for what kind of relativization I want to do. Also realized that my positions are shit, so back to the drawing board on those. Frankly, it's going well.

Now, after a little delay, morphological notes! Constructive criticism and error-spotting is still wanted and highly appreciated. Right now I'll post nouns, adjectives, and verbs; I'll get the rest up when its more fine-tuned. Nouns Have no true case Are inherently singular; inflect for the plural <...

I'm quite fond of OSC's cultures through ought the memory of Earth series. Their culture seemed interesting and the devotion towards the layout and behavior of the city and its denizens made me even more fascinated.

@Mountainmax : Interesting. I always love floating continents ^_^ So magic is technological in Elezai? Like how? You have to use a mechanical device of some sort to cast magic? It's not just typical "concentrate really hard and a fireball shoots out of your finger?" Actually, magic on Ele...

Nice. A bit Georgian - g(e)orgeous! :-P http://i53.tinypic.com/25i4w2v.jpg It has no rounded back ones and it has front rounded vowel? Somewhat dubious. Now that I look at it I'm sure this betrays a universal. I'll edit it duly to fix this. Thank you for pointing this out. :) Phonotactics The basic...

Re: Reduplication Survey
im probably gonna use duplication in my conlang. It will most likely occur during the conjugation/declension of nouns and verbs (maybe adjectives.) most likely it will happen along the lines of PIE; that is to say, the first consonant and the vowel will be reduplicated; might get mixed up.

Re: Elves other than "humans, only awesomer."
the only race that I've created so far that would fit the modern description of "Elf" (i.e. humans but awesomer) are not Elves at all, in the biological sense. They are called the Aynelim and they can be summarized as winged-tech-mages; however, this description doesn't do them justice. Th...

Re: Random ideas: Morphosyntax
I came up with idea for a complex system of gender that was mainly inspired by Navajo and Swahili. Basically nouns are separated into classes based of a spectrum of "willpower," that is to say separated based on their level of control over their own nature. They are as follows: 1) total wi...
Re: Harmony
I believe navajo has consonant harmony ... and here it is! My conlang proto-Elezaic also has this type of consonat harmony. when si- /Si/, which represents the first-person agent is attached to a verb such as snu "to cut" the stems coronal fricative harmonizes with the affix's, resulting i...
