Re: Guess the meaning

My idea was getting feedback on what words in your conlang "sound like" to other people.

Of course, that's just my interpretation. Perhaps WizardOfWar had other ideas.

Re: The longest and the shortest word in your conlang

BTW, I actually added a word for "roguelike" to Kankonian just last month, when I was doing the R-words on the IGCE list. It's kolurvikuzha, which was borrowed from Javarti kolürviküja, which comes from kola (world) + -ürvi (against) + küja (game).

Ah, I see. Never heard of the video game; I guess YoungConlanger's word was an Easter egg for that, and not the Latin word?

TIL that balatro is the Latin word for "clown" or "buffoon". (I didn't get the Easter egg at first and wiktionaried it.)

Plus, it forms a false cognate with Bill Ballantine.

Understandable. And yaaaaaaaay -- Xúuuatxia's back! That's not a licit vowel sequence in Xúuuatxia, unfortunately, but it does have the vibe. (Something about this was meant to be funny idk, my brain is very tired) Oh, I get it, you're referring to the word "yaaaaaaaay", which has all tho...

[:'(] What happened? (Or are you not allowed to share that either?) I got pretty burned out and had to quit. That's happened to a good number of people; usually either someone else takes over their culture(s) and language(s) or they find an in-world reason for their disappearance. There was also so...

Re: Arayaz's thread so that she doesn't flood the forum

It's making me really annoyed that I can't post anything about Areyaxi, because it's my most developed culture, history, and languages. I promise, though, that the moment (this season of?) Tyuns is over (I don't know when that will be, though), I'm'a rush right on here and give y'all the biggest in...

You know, when I first saw the thread title, I thought, "Wait, why is Knox Adjacent calling it Project Clickbait? Is this a gimmick to get everyone to open the thread?"

Then, when I saw the first post, I figured it out.

Re: Random Conworld idea thread

Well, at least not liberal parlamentary democracy in the way it is practiced. In theory, sowjet communism was based on a council system (similar to the way I pictured it), recall voting, and the absence of any division of power or checks and balances. Of course, in practice it was very different. W...

I like "an upset, a shxkeup, a sudden change in leadership". Perhaps the word for "upstart" can be derived from this?

Re: (C&C) Q&A Thread - Quick questions go here

I've been developing a fantasy world that I want some input with. The basic idea is there are (at least for now) two races: humans and elves. The elves are capable of spellcasting through channel their own innate magic, leading to them developing a society based around magic. Humans, on the other h...
