Vowel nasalization by nasal codas is pretty common, how about nasal onsets? Are there any other ways a nasal vowel can rise?

The issue with saying that they are all different languages is that, with minimal issue, most of the "dialects" can read the other "dialects" just fine. And I find that among those "dialects", Japanese written in full blown Kanji is easier to understand than Cantonese....

When followed by another 3rd tone syllable, it's high rising. presidential palace 總統府 : 3-3-3 > 2-2-3 old(former) president 老總統 : 3-3-3 > 3-2-3 And if there exist something like 老總統府, it will be 3-2-2-3. Another example with every character except 的 in 3rd tone : 我擁有老總統給我的... 3-2-2/3-3-2-3-2-3-n

... and ontop of that it's part of the very closely-related sino-tibetan family, which in total i believe makes up 1/6 of this planet's population. and the entire family uses the exact same script, the only surviving logogram system in the world! english almost may as well use a logogram system. oh...
