Yeah … I don't like it [xD] It's either <k> for /k/ and <qu> for a certain reflex of Latin /kʷ/; or <c> and <qu> for /k/ and <qù> for that /kʷ/ reflex. The latter certainly looks prettier, but it's also more complicated. Don't forget the Spanish option: (c) or (qu) for /k/ and (cu) for /kʷ/. Though...
