Re: English Orthography Reform
Helios, I think it might be easier just to represent both /gz/ and /ks/ as gz and ks; and /gʒ/ and /kʃ/ as, for example, gj and ksh. Then allow for dialectal differences, particularly for the latter pair.

ōxa - /oːʔa/ - 'donkey' xōxa - /ʔoːʔa/ - 'stupid person' Is that really possible, that language contrasts word beginning with vowel and word beginning with glottal stop [O.o] ? It certainly is. Take Hawaiian as an example: ʻaʻa means, amongst others, to challenge or defy, whilst aʻa is a root, a ve...

Re: General problems in language design
I certainly can share something of my own language. I began documenting it on the internet a few months ago (before that, I had stuck to manuscripts!) but there is some information here on phonology, orthography and grammar, and here 's my dictionary; I've uploaded around 3,000 words and counting so...

I'd be definitely happy to help you, Ναθια. I've spoken our family language for 25+ years and my own heartlang for 10 or more, so I may have a few insights into what it's like to learn a family conlang, the positives and setbacks. An important consideration is how different you want to make this lan...

Oh do you have worked out different dialects/accents? [:D] I have indeed :D - some are more different than others, with certain ones just meaning accents and others being fully-fledged dialects with divergent grammar and vocabulary. It's an aspect of world languages that I love and felt I had to in...

Your conpeople have sex using words? That's weirder than asari. I assume you're kidding, but I meant that in the future, I'd upload, for example, a conversation between two people to provide a more usual interchange in the language. P.S. Though the Celinese do say, 'ardoê gyrín, mairís ceonín' (aff...

They all make a few sensible suggestions, but have their foibles. I'll share my initial feelings on some of them. SR1: - The first proposed reform, of changing all instances of /ɛ/ from ea, ei, eo etc to <e> is imminently sensible and I'd expect to see something similar in any effective orthographic...
