Re: What did you accomplish today?
I finished looking for missing W-words in my Kankonian dictionary, and got over 125 new words. A sampling: gregred : gregred (coming-of-age ritual for Skark boys that involved hunting in the forest alone) (Skark borrowing) wiabu : Wapanese, weeaboo (English borrowing) ikiyau : war cry oshowei dohak ...

I listened to it before I read your spoiler and thought it was electronica/EDM. I thought, "Cool! I like Clean Bandit, and SHAED, and Empire of the Sun, and Lady Gaga, and they're all electronica, so electronica's not bad!" Then I noticed your spoiler. I opened it, and saw it was prog-rock...

A number of the sapient species who live in the Lehola Galaxy are not pentadactylous like a typical human, and as a result there are many different bases across my Leholangs. The Reds are tetradactylous, so Hapoish is octal. The ilti, the bansak, and the an~ak are sexdactylous, so Javarti, Palang, a...

Yeah. I asked a question on verb categories in my mailing group, and so far I haven't gotten any answers. I'd like to create some verbs for my ring's lexicon, but I need that help first.

Re: What did you accomplish today?
Up until today, Kankonian had only one sentence tag: isnaloshas , which translates as "I assume". Recently I realized it wouldn't work for some types of "isn't it?" questions, and so today I added a new tag to the Kankonian language. I wrote up these new rules in my Kankonian gra...

Today I created the ya ya nang, a red flower of Chatony that grows on graves, Chatony being where the nila bioswath (Dorsals) live. It's my first non-animal creation for that planet and bioswath. I needed the word to provide an etymon for "vulture", as in one who profits from another's/oth...

Re: Conlang word easter eggs?
In Ruykkarraber, anadeu means "strange" or "weird." It's an easter egg for ANADEW. I was lucky with this, since while anadeu is not a valid root, adeu is ─ and I happened to already have a prefix an- . (It's a generic negator; adeu means "normal" or "expected.&quo...

Doing the U-words in Kankonian involved working on six different days. I set a new record for looking for missing words for a letter: 790 new words by doing the U's! The vast majority of these U-words were words with the prefix un-. I went through an entire alphabetized LCV and mouthed each entry wi...

But at the same time, I'm not aware of any Christian denomination whose members say "the Holy Spirit died for our sins"...despite the Spirit being God just as much as Jesus is. I don't think any Christian denomination says the Holy Ghost died for humanity's sins, but there were the Muggle...

Re: How can I do intentionally non-naturalistic diachronics?
One idea would be to have phonemes evolve into something totally dissimilar in only one or two steps. Like have all the /l/'s in your motherlang become /s/'s or /p/'s in your daughterlang. (An ANADEW with Albanian and Armenian?)

Re: What did you accomplish today?
I started translating Cat and Fish story into Dlor. I got stuck with 'to wake up'. Dlor does not have a cessative form so it cannot just be 'stop sleeping'. Maybe it will be 'to get active' or 'to exe-open' or something. So in the end, i didn't accomplish very much conlanging today. Can't you just ...
