I have a feeling I'm kicking a hornets' nest, but does this cast doubt on common views of Indo-European?

Apparently there's a semantic map of Pluractionality (by Simone Mattiola 2016) https://www.verduria.org/download/file.php?id=488 Leave it to linguists to put all the stuff you only knew subconsciously in full view. Who needs drugs. This field expands my mind constantly. Is there such thing as infle...

An idea for a religion. Members of this religion think that continents are gods and worship them. Priests fall over oneselves to explain how continents can do all things that human can do while still being large landmasses without human body. I had an idea like this. I'll post it here eventually. I...

I like using the idea of computer simulations as an analogy for our universe, and I believe the universe is computed based on metaphysical principles somewhat beyond our ken, but possible observable and possible able to be theorized on. I'm no chakra-loving hippie; I'm not fond of ridiculous stuff l...

Dreamt just before my absence of a cross between the people from Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs, and and ARG/cult something where if I didn't do some stuff to stop it, the world would fall to darkness and evil forces, and I had to keep on guard from being manipulated. Only finished two out o...

I've been listening to a lot of Arabic recordings the past while. I've discovered that /θ/ can morph into /ɬ/, particularly before nasals.
So, the word "female" - /ʔunθā/ - might be realized as [ʔunɬā].

Maybe something long and interesting? Or a story or illustration?
Or something that you don't consider a mere "fun fact," but actually extremely central.

I think the Middle East is also a good model for that, to whatever degree. At some point, urbanization, historical events, and increased nonlineal religiosity will make shires more moot (pun intended) (less moot?). As a good model, Jewish tribal distinctions were basically erased due to the exiles t...

Hello there everyone. After being active on this site for more than half a year, I disappeared suddenly last month. What happened? I needed to get out. There's hardly anything worth doing in my hometown, most of my friends don't live here anymore, my time was being wasted (posting on the CBB took ti...
