(N.B.: If this is not the right place, please move the thread - I think the conpeople part will be prevalent. Also, this is a great opportunity to flesh out one's conpeople.)
This thread is basically meant to discuss everyday things as a member of your conpeople in his or her conlang (adding a tiny English translation under the conlang).
It might be fair to advise any participants to pick only one con-alter-ego. If one wishes to write about another con people, he may do so in third-person view.
I will not require another pseudonym here. And as I'm lucky enough to have a nick deriving from a real name, I will stick to it. :P
Without further ado, let's get this thing rolling.
Me clamo Egerius et só dela citate Bonavallis. Iljá est buono et sont multas gente. La lingua ke parlo est Romanz, que est latinitate vecina.
[mɛ ˈkɾaːmɔ eˈd͡ʒɛːɾius e ˈso dela t͡ʃiˈtaːde ˈbwɔnaˌvalle] [iʎˈʎa ɛs ˈbwɔno e son ˈmuɫtaz ˈd͡ʒɛnte] [la ˈliŋgwa ke parlo es rɔˈmant͡s ˌkɛ ɛs latiniˈtaːde veˈt͡ʃiːna]
My name is Egerius and I am from the city Buonavalle. It is good here and here are many people. The language I speak is Romanz, which is close to Latin.
Ke potzo dicere plú? Nostru poplu non comet carne, sed Carnomannos, qui sunt barbarosos in aliquandas cosas.
[ke ˈpɔd͡zo ˈdi:t͡ʃeɾe ˈpɾu] [ˈnɔstɾu ˈpɔplu nɔn ˈcɔːme ˈcaɾne, sed caɾnoˈmannos ki ˌson ˈbarβaɾoz en aliˈkwandas ˈkɔ:zas]
What more can I say? Our people doesn't eat meat, but the Carnomans do, who are barbarous in certain things.
I try to make this text look as if the spelling isn't quite standardized, as it was with the Romance vernaculars in the Middle Ages; latinisms included.
