Oh, OK. I hear registration is down lately, though.

Muke is working the issue. My point stands. Anyone with an account can edit that page.

Gee, I'm sure glad you helped us settle that.

Anyway, Muke has fixed the registration issue. Anyone should be able to request an account now.

Database error

A database query error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software.

So I sent an email to Muke and he created an account for me.

I've been updating the vocabulary, letter by letter. So far I've done b, ch, and D.

Just finished all the updating.

Klingon has a lexicon of 3,001 words.

Did you include unverified words? The boQwI' app includes them with notes.

No, I didn't include the unverified ones.

Perhaps you should...just put them in a different section.

Wow! I never knew they added (at last!) a word for 'sun'. So long was I using words like pemHov or 'Hov'a' . I remember talking with Rev. Glen Proechel long-distance by phone, and discussing what that would be in Hol. At the time, he had recently come back to US:MN from Kamchatka Peninsula.

Great fellow linguist and Klingonist, sorely missed.

Marc Okrand has recently created a new Klingon word: tu'mI', meaning "sock".

If you reverse the syllables, tu'mI' sounds like "me too". Am I correct in thinking this is a pun on the term "sock puppet"?

Do you mean “Did M Okrand intend this as a pun?”? If so: IDK 😐
Do you mean “Are we likely to henceforth regard this as (such) a pun?”? If so: obviously 🙄

Klingon is full of puns:

Considering how easy and intutive the "tu'mi' = me too = sock puppet = sock" connection seems, I doubt this is a coincidence in a language filled with puns.

The new word lIvqa'nan sounds like "leave Canaan". What do you suppose the given meaning, "doorframe [something constructed to hold a door or gate, whether the door/gate is there or not]", has to do with it?

Klingon now has words for "billion" (an homage to a certain astronomer, no less!), "to vote", "hypothesis", "to consider/regard", "to exploit", "physics", "to be hot/spicy", "to be savory", "etc.", "wormhole", "coincidence", "priest", "recipe", "genealogy", "theory", "glue", "rhyme", "rubber", "coconut", "salt", "hormone", "dust", "ashes", "nest", "fiction", "Afghanistan", "melody", and "breast" -- among others!

Why “coconut”? Is it a loanword, or a neologism? Any coconut anywhere off Earth has to be a transplant or import or descendant of such!
