The special legal privileges, you mean? Those wouldn't exist on a free market, but the basic Shareholder-ruled structure could very easily persist. It could be debated (though I don't buy into it) that the state causes the corporate business structure to be more advantageous than it would otherwise be.

But there's a much better argument against corporation hate than trying to pass off their existence as the Government's fault: Destructive actions are bad no matter who is performing them. The free-market position is NOT to take the power of government and give it to the businessmen. The free-market position is that the power shouldn't be in anyone's hands at all.

It's not being hypocritical; it's just being cryptic. And I'm not telling you mine either.

Corporations or similar structures that serve to concentrate power in the hands of their leaders, then.

No, I find it quite hypocritical to be cryptic about your birthday. Why on earth won't you share it (considering the things you do share with the rest of the internets). It's not like your birthday is the most telling thing about you; it's just a date. I can't understand why people (in general) are not afraid to tell everyone that they're into Calvin Klein underwear / Christ / conlanging, but are so wary about telling their age.

Maybe we have different preferences about which information we prefer to keep private than you do. Nothing wrong with that.

Of course. I wasn't saying I was saying I think it's hypocritical; I'm just curious about why you won't tell me your age. But I'm guessing you consequently can't/won't tell that either.

My age? I'z 16. You can probably do the math yourself. My birthday, however, is a secret. Personal reasons.

I'm thinking primarily of limited liability. If my non-corporate business causes harm to a person I can be sued. If my corporate business causes harm to a person I cannot be sued.

I don't see how a shareholder-ruled structure inherently puts power in the hands of people, aside from their power in making business decisions. The biggest problem as I see it is too much power in the hands of politicians who then make special laws that benefit their corporate sponsers. This gives them unfair market advantages which gives them more money to spend on campaign contributions, which makes them more money.

SLiV, I'm almost 100% sure that that's not what hypocritical means. I would be being hypocritical about my birthdate if I was complaining about nobody else saying theirs, and I didn't as well. Hypocriticism implies that I am doing what I am telling other people not to do, which is why it doesn't make sense in this context. You could say that you think I am being cryptic, or that it's strange not to say when I was born, etcetera, but no hypocritical.
